HAHA Dumbass!!! (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2216703)
PHILADELPHIA -- Terrell Owens won't return to the Philadelphia Eagles this season, coach Andy Reid said Monday.
The outspoken star receiver was suspended for Sunday night's 17-10 loss at Washington, and will remain suspended for three more games. After that, the Eagles plan to deactivate Owens for the rest of the season.
"The league has been notified by the players' union that they will be grieving our right to take that action," Reid said, "therefore there is nothing more that I can say at this point."
Owens was suspended over the weekend following a tumultuous week in which he criticized the club, fought with a former teammate and took another verbal shot at quarterback Donovan McNabb.
"I do want it to be clear that this decision is a result of a large number of situations that accumulated over a long period of time," Reid said.
Owens "had been warned repeatedly about the consequences of his actions," Reid said. "We gave Terrell every opportunity to avoid this outcome."
Owens was suspended Saturday, two days after he said the Eagles showed "a lack of class" for not publicly recognizing his 100th career touchdown catch in a game on Oct. 23. In the same interview with ESPN.com on Thursday, Owens said the Eagles would be better off with Green Bay's Brett Favre at quarterback.
Owens was involved in a fight last week with former Eagles defensive end Hugh Douglas, who remains with the team as its "ambassador."
McNabb, who feuded with Owens throughout the summer and has been a constant target of his criticism, finally took a stand in the matter, saying the Eagles might be "better off" without Owens.
"Obviously it is tough losing a guy of his caliber, his ability, but I think we might be better off," McNabb said after throwing an interception that sealed the loss to Washington. "I think what we did tonight, we showed that we played well together. I think we also showed that when given the opportunity, guys can make plays for us. We're 4-4. We're not 1-7. I think that's the way to look at it. For the guys in the locker room, we win together and we lose together."

I'm not sure there are any more NFL teams who will be willing to put up with his crap.
And in the event there are some that will, they won't be willing to offer him a lot of money for his services.
T.O. thus becomes the first instance where an athlete is such a despicable, awful, piece of shit excuse for a human being that it overwhelms his considerable talent.
Ryan Leaf was even more of an asshole, but he sucked.

From what I have heard, there are some teams that would be willing to sign him once the Eagles cut him in March. The consensus around the league, though, is that nobody is going to want to sign him for more than one year at a time. That means there is no way he can make the kind of money that he was whining about in Philly. He should have kept his mouth shut and played to his ability...it would have paid off eventually. Look at Westbrook, he was unhappy with his contract, but he showed up...shut up...and played for the TEAM. Now he got a 5 year $25 million extenison.

T.O. is just pathetic. I'm so sick of his antics. I wish the league would just ban him for life to show other pathetic POS's that this kind of crap won't be tolerated.
Way to take a stand Eagles.

TO miscalculated. He should have realized that the NFL is not a player's league like the NBA. He's a great player, but maybe too much of a headache.

Hunt for a new W/R. Guys who might be available and have nice upside: Nate Burleson, Andre Johnson, Jaravicious (at least for this week), Johnson (Arizona), TO's backup looked pretty good yesterday.
Good Luck.

I don't believe T.O. is as bad a teammate as the media will have us believe.
The NFL is a meat market and if you are not a player, I don't think you really know what it's like. When he signed his deal, he was given a $10 million signing bonus. He received $2.3 million of that last season. Apparently the Eagles could release him and that would cancel out the remaining $7.5 million of his signing bonus along with the non-guaranteed money. So in a sense, the guaranteed money is not really guaranteed.
Granted, he signed the contract and he should honor it. But T.O. is fighting against the NFL and the CBA in a sense. That is why there is so much negative publicity against him. He is the best player to date to fight the system.
I think it's within his rights to renegotiate. Everything is negoitable if you have leverage. I just don't think he has enough leverage to win against the Eagles and the NFL. It's a shame because as much as I hate the Eagles, I love the way he plays. The guy is a great player.

Your wrong buddy! :
1. He is a multi-millionare !!!
2. He has never ever done anything wrong, or against the law, when he is off the field. According to many players and media, he is a great guy when you talk to him in person and away from the field.
3. Maybe when he is retired, he will be on ESPN. Cause God knows that if CRACKHEAD Irvin can do it, Owens can.
Owens will be playing for an NFL team for years to come. He is a beast on the field and I guarantee you that he will be picked up in a heartbeat!

I disagree with the blast against McNabb as the reason that the Eagles are 4-4. If that team could run the ball at all, McNabb would be brilliant as he's always been -- if teams had to respect the run and play the Eagles' offense straight up (like they've had to in years past, whether the Eagles had TO or not) I don't think they'd be having struggles anything like those they're experiencing right now.
I said in a different thread this summer that I thought TO might be the most overrated player in football. I stand by that. If he made the Eagles better last year, it was only marginally so. Without him on the field (and in precisely the same position they had been in without TO in years before) they got to the Super Bowl.
McNabb, on the other hand, might be the most underrated player in the game. He's so good that he's taken for granted, but that team lives and dies on what Donovan does and that's been true for years. It wouldn't surprise me, with a week of prep time to just relax and not deal with the distractions, if the Eagles started on a pretty good roll that finds them in the playoffs with a pretty good seed and another good chance to play in the NFC Championship game, at least.

I know he hasn't gotten in trouble with the law... yet. He has a self-destructive personality. He won't have a cent left to his name by the time he's 50, if he makes it that far (a lot of NFL'ers don't).

I subscribe to the Madden philosophy, you have to run the football and stop the run to win in the NFL. The Eagles are passing way too much. But Westbrook isn't really a downhill type back. A guy like Correll Buckhalter would have helped but he seems to get hurt every year.

I agree, He is the best receiver in the NFL, then you have Steve Smith (who may actually be the best), and Randy Moss, and they are leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else. There is no way another team does not pick him up. For better or worse, the Eagles took him knowing the baggage that he brought, and other teams will take that risk too.
TO may be selfish after the game, but during it, he lays it ALL on the line, he does things other receivers can't, and won't do. As an example, Randy Moss is a one trick horse, Specialty is deep plays, he won't take the hit over the middle. If he became a possesion receiver he would be devastating.

T.O. allowed Philly to blowout teams that they would not have normally blown out during the regular season. That is invaluable because that keeps your team injury free and rested.
They did make it to the Super Bowl. But Minnesota and Atlanta did not have defenses like teams that smashed them in the mouth like Carolina or Tampa Bay. And T.O. did one of the most amazing things I have ever seen by playing brilliantly in the Super Bowl after breaking his ankle two months before.
Oh and by the way, McNabb's QB rating was under 80 in 2003 and over 100 in 2004. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Well I know Dan Snyder has plenty of jack. I bet he would be willing to give T.O. a nice contract and a chance at Philly two times next year. Joe Gibbs commands much more respect than Reid or Mariucci. Maybe Gibbs gives Snyder the ok to go after him. Should be interesting.
I know if the Redskins are interested, the Pokes would be interested. But I don't think Stalag Coughlin would be able to deal with T.O. so the Giants are probably out of the question.

My shot at Donovan was mostly just in passing, don't really dislike him, just seems to me like ever since Limbaugh made those comments about him, everyone seems to make excuses for him and gives him a free pass. On the other hand, if TO farts doing situps, the media assumes it must be a statement against the team.
I'm sure that is just my interpretation, and not how many other people see it.
At this point in my life I can really care less what athletes say, what they smoke, or who they murder or rape in their personal time (as long as it doesn't involve my family). I just want them to produce on the field of play.
P.S.
The truth.....I think most Receivers would love to have Favre as their QB, Who's with me??? He's simply the best.
C'mon informal poll everyone indicate who they would rather have
Favre > Mcnabb

Don't get me wrong, Jordan was, is, and will always be the man, Unless Mr. Duncan leads the Spurs to the next 6 championships. But Jordan was alot more selfish than alot of people realize, but to play at that level, I think you have to be, and I'm not saying it is a bad thing. Ahhhh, I should have just used Kobe's name, noone would deny his selfishness.
TO did his part in the Superbowl last year, I don't think anyone can fault him for that loss, heck his teamates were the ones disrespecting him last year, saying they didn't need him and such.

Are you sure Gibbs had the problem with Lavar or was it Gregg Williams? LaVar is a bit of a loose canon but he is a playmaker like he showed last night. Gregg Williams is a good defensive coordinator and Gibbs has his back. Williams wanted to show Arrington who was boss and the message has been received, I hope. Also Arrington has a pretty large contract. The Redskins management might be posturing themselves to make Lavar take a pay cut.
It's all about the money with T.O. The riff between him and McNabb is because McNabb wouldn't back him like he did Westbrook. All this media scrutiny because he agreed with Michael Irvin? Big deal. He might be right.
And so what he fought Hugh Douglas. Douglas should have kept his mouth shut.
I would rather T.O. was a Redskin than a Cowboy.
