Thomas forced his way to the NBA but then left to go back overseas after they cut him. Had he stuck around in the d-league, he might've been called up on some 10-days and proved himself. He took the short-term money and has made a nice career in Europe. Nothing wrong with that, but not the Spurs' fault either. He wasn't ready. Still probably isn't.
