They need to stagger the minutes between Dejounte, White, Walker, and Keldon so that 2 are always on the court at the same time. Dejounte didnt do enough playmaking. He was just passing it off and not running plays. He does look to have an improved mid range jumper.

I havent been a supporter of Lonnie but as mentioned earlier, he was invisible in the first half then turned it up in the second. He had a starlike quality to some of the plays he made. But most of all, i was impressed by the fact that he didnt make as many dumb plays as he did during the season pre pandemic.

Keldon got into foul trouble in the first half and didnt see much minutes because of that. Most of the fouls were ticky tack fouls the refs were calling because Giannis. Another one was one of those smart fouls Ginobili used to make to prevent the fast break. In the second half, you could see his scoring prowess. He has a knack for making backboard field goals (by aiming high) which is a sign of a smart offensive player. I was really impressed by the passes he made, that probably wont show up in the highlights because his teammates missed them. He is much improved in this area since i dont recall any of these passes during Gleague.

White was so aggressive. Are we seeing a new White? If so, we have a damn good player. He wasnt playing PG as much and let the others handle the ball, and he did it so well. Great defense, and great offense. White is a keeper.

Gay needs to go. Dude is seriously a liability.

Samanic still needs to get some strength. Dude was invisible out there similar to how Lonnie was.

Highlights can be misleading but I liked what I saw from DJ, White and Walker. Walker specially had a couple of impressive drives and hit the corner 3 twice. There's definite potential there, it comes down to his competitive desire (and coaching). He has talent. Overall though, the team is really undersized (they are missing Lamarcus and Lyles, and struggled to defend b4 even with those two).

Thanks to fans who gave a review after watching the entire game. I am sure there's much that I missed with just highlights.

Fucking Rudy Gay man. Says young guys deserve minutes and spotlight, then procceeds to become a black hole that forces stupid shot after stupid shot, then goes and gets cooked on the other end. And we have him signed for one more season, if I'm not mistaken. Idiot FO. Forbes getting more minutes than he deserves was a given since today was his birthday, hopefully he goes back to the bench next game (pipedream). Besides that, the game was good. The result was expected, and I was impressed with how bold the rotations were in terms of playing the young guys, together. Lonnie, White and Keldon had good outings, I especially like Keldon's motor. He also had a step-back 3 on the wing on one play, I was impressed with that. Spurs made a very good pick there and he seems to lift his teammates up with his intensity. I wasn't impressed with Dejounte's playmaking in general... He needs to get better.

The first half the team wasn’t that bad on defense, the reason they were down at the half was all the turnovers. The impressive thing was they were still pretty close at the half with all those turnovers and fast break points given up.

I didn’t finish watching the game but I seen some of the 3rd quarter and I left off where Lonnie scored 8 straight points. They were still in the game around that point and I have no clue what happened after because I didn’t finish watching the game.

I think the only reason Forbes didn’t start was due to Patty not playing so I wouldn’t be surprised if Forbes starts again once they start playin the real games. Eubanks is really bad on defense and was getting roasted when he was out there. They should go ahead and give his minutes to Luka in my opinion

All one can hope for is that during this time the youngins (DJ, White, Lonnie, Keldon) learn enough to carry over next season. Or maybe if we can showcase 1 or 2 of them for a trade, that would be great too. Its clearly unrealistic for us to trade everybody as that has never been the Spurs way, so if we stay within reality, I do think there will be a trade that will involve one young player.

I disagree; he's not going to opt out of the next year of his contract. Even without a salary cap drop, he can't expect to get a contract that's even close to the same per year number - to many teams see him as a non-winning player. Even if they don't let the cap drop happen, it will still be a down market, and he will still be better off waiting until next year, in the hopes of an economic resurgence before looking for a new contract as a luxury player...
