Past his prime and upcoming movies star Lebron James and his buddy -journeyman Anthony Davis - takes on San Antonio’s Big 3 of Bryn Forbes, Demar Derozan and 1st Ballot HOF’er Rudy Gay, as the mighty and unstoppable Spurs take center stage to sweep the disappointing Los Angeles Lakers.
Spurs vs. Lakers – Key Matchup
How will the Lakers defend San Antonio’s All NBA talent Lonnie Walker VIII? To begin with, that job will likely fall to former Spur/Laker lover, Danny Green. As the series progresses, don’t be surprised to see Spurs unload Megastar and Tim Duncan heir apparent Jakob Poeltl get a chance to show what he could do against Lakers basic big men like Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard. Quindarry Weatherspoon (not related to Clarence Weatherspoon, as Quindarry came from a family with a richer basketball heritage) hasn’t played much this year for San Antonio but has done well and has provided a defensive spark over the last few games, so watch out Lebron James!
San Antonio head into this series as the overwhelming favorites and its easy to see why, they have played far better, organized Spurs ball and are back on track to win a title. Thanks to Greg Popovich, the franchise has also secured a massive amount of assets when they traded disgruntled and overrated star Kawhi Leonard who became irrelevant after leaving the Spurs franchise. Really, who needs this guy when you can replace him with an upcoming Superstar Brandon Ingram.
Spurs supporting cast must take advantage of the Lakers inexperience. Expect Patty Mills to consistently demoralize the Lakers defense with his acrobatic moves, dazzling yet highly efficient finishes. It will be a long series for the underwhelming Los Angeles Lakers. Coach Vogel will need to pull out all the stops indeed to upset the NBA’s Gold Standard to make it out of this series in one piece.
Spurs in a gentleman sweep.
