TV Series: the Last Kingdom

I started watching it about 2 weeks ago out of boredom. Almost quit because the first couple of episodes are extremely boring but kept with it.

Finished the whole series inside the two weeks. The show goes up to GOT prime levels in a hurry.

Started watching it when season 3 came out. Easily one of the best shows I've watched. Like Reck said, its up there with GoT.

Even George RR Martin said he likes this show more than GoT. Will get to it at some point for sure.

Granted I only finished halfway thru the first season of GOT; Kingdom has less factions. So the early story (and I assume overall) is easier to follow. Plus there is a central figure in the show unlike GOT.

Plus has historical truth. No monsters :lol

Not my point. Just another reason I struggled to stay interested in GOT. 8+ seasons is daunting to jump into.

When did Brida become a maniacal crazy person? She’s basically insane this season. I don’t remember when this turnaround happened. Still, a bit jarring seen a cool character from earlier season being turned into an unfeeling killing machine.

Big picture it was the betrayal of her husband. Specifically towards Uhtred: "Over the course of the intervening years, the pair have faced each other in numerous confrontations with Uhtred angering Brida most of all when he allowed her to be taken prisoner rather than giving her an honourable death in season 4."

I cant say I liked the Brida storyline at all. Felt like it dragged on for far too long so it made for some cringe watching. 7/10 Season 10/10 for that beautiful ending though.

They also brought that Scotland king plot too late. They could have dealt with Brida in 2 episodes and then focused on him and Bebbanburg for the rest of the episodes. Glad they managed to bring back Hild for the last 2 eps. She's the real one, imo.

Just finished Season 1 and thought it was pretty good. From Rotten Tomatoes rankings, it looks like it gets better. Is this the case?
Right now, I think of it like Vikings which was OK but really got redundant.
