Wow, If I understand this right, he played at an ALL NBA level for a stretch with that toe dislocated. He's a tough cookie. I think he'll be fine.

Recurring foot problems though, that is not likely to change.

Isn't the second toe the lengthiest one, in most people at least? It is in mine, if it counts for something, so I could imagine it's the most likely to get stubbed/stomped on/wrecked by coffee tables out of the bunch, except for that MF pinky toe that just lives to create pain.

The fact that the dislocation happened before bubble play makes this a non-issue for me. Also, it's certainly a "foot" injury, but doesn't look at all related to his plantar fasciitis bouts, there haven't been any links that I have seen. I don't think it's fair to label him as an injury-prone or "that guy with foot issues" kind of player just yet.

Dislocations can run the whole gamut. Hopefully his is a "simple" one. We just don't have enough info. Ya this better not turn into a Kwa Leonard type thing. Ok faith in the Spurs medical system that kept Timmy Dunkar, Manu and others going for 20 years. Just seems like so much stuff has gone South since Zaza.

I'm not up to date on how NBA floors are built, but i know in times past what was underneath the hardwood was totally inadequate as regards injury prevention. Meaning often hard concrete as hey, that's how stadiums were built. UCLA spent a lot of dough on some kind of softer landing at Pauley. I know it got flooded out a few years ago and had to be totally redone.
