Better team winning, tbh. The Cowboys are good and the best team in their division. The Rams are a little better, but they're the 4th/worst team in their division. Fathom those apples, tbh.

Because FOX owned the rights to it as it is NFC-NFC and under the TV CBA each network can protect one game per week from being flexed to SNF.

I don't. They'll win 10-12 games. They just played the fastest rising team in the NFL and still came close. Relax.
They won't draw NFC Best opponents all year. Next two weeks they get the Giants and Jets. Soon enough they'll be 2-1 and just fine.

Metcalf, Lockett, Chris Carson etc are mediocre? Okay and at some point Josh Gordon will be re-instated since they took out the weed policy in the new CBA; probably around week 7 we'll see him back. Oh, and Philip Dorsett is returning too. And they have Greg Olsen, a likely HOF TE candidate if he stays healthy, and stalwarts in Dissly and Willson behind him. That's hardly "mediocre".
Those are nice pieces. Nowhere near elite status.

all of them combined... oh and did I mention Russell Wilson? That's a heck of a lot more than the Niners have.

hate the neutral zone infraction rule. it just incentivizes the O-Lineman to start acting and jump and point.
if the OL doesnt move and the defender moves back into position, there's no flag (as long as the ball isn't snapped). but some dumbfuck on the offense jumps up and starts pointing, ant it becomes instant penalty on the defense.

Like the Marshawn commercial... he needs to join a team tbh... but he'll probably wait until the halfway mark roughly... he's probably only interested in playing half-years and only for a contender... maybe Seattle if Hyde doesn't pan out because Carson was their only competent running back today.

that's why I was telling cat boy that his team peaked in week 1, they won't face a worse defense all year, especially in terms of pass rush
Carr for MVP if the Raiders make the playoffs tbh. He somehow even managed to make Nelson fucking Agholor look good today. Something Wentz couldn't do in 5 years.

Good news is it's squamous cell carcinoma in a lymph node and caught early, stage 1-2. If it was say, pancreatic or lung cancer, it'd be quite grave indeed
you never know though, Flip Saunders was about the same age, got hodgkins lymphoma and was expected to be okay, then the chemo came and .....boom, within months he was a dead man.... some people just don't react favorably to chemo

99.9% of the time, no, but this could be the year, if you look at the schedules... the NFC Best clearly is stacked and they have an extremely easy schedule outside of each other (as they all play the NFC East and AFC East, the two worst divisions in football).
Though I would admit that 8-8 or 9-7 is more likely for the 4th place team in the NFC Best. But this could be the outlier year, looking at the schedules.

Dak was 0-4 in situations like these last year. That's why he didn't get the payday/contract he wanted. If he can't atone for that this year, he deserves to be a Tyrod Taylor type bridge/backup QB for the rest of his career.

It's a bad call, but does that really matter? Ramsey is a bitch but he's going to get that call because of his name and notoriety.
The great ones like Rodgers and Mahomes make up for it and make another play that counts. The fact that Prescott can't even come close in a two-minute drive with the game on the line, for the 5th time in 2 years, with arguably the best flight of skill position players on his team, justifies the inescapable truth that Prescott is NOT A $30+ MILLION QUARTERBACK.

Yes, Ramsey is a cunt-ass bitch and a flopper like Chris Paul. But, that wasn't why the Cowboys lost.
The funny thing is... Patriots Brady, Mahomes, Wilson, Rodgers, even Manning (either one) or even Stafford (even today) respond to that by converting a big throw on the next play to save the game. The great QBs persevere and actually give their team a chance, or multiple chance.
The franchise QBs of the NFL don't spend the entire 2-minute do-or-die drill drive throwing 4 yard passes and outs to the flat.
This isn't a Garrett or Jerry or Moore or McCarthy problem. This is a Dak Prescott problem. He just isn't good enough. It's the cold, hard truth.
The Cowboys lost because Prescott couldn't hit chunk plays in a 2-minute drive. Four-yard outs to Cooper or whatever safety valve, that won't get it done. You have to take the 20, 25, 30 yard shot. The only double-digit play the Cowboys converted on the entire drive was on a scramble by Prescott, and he didn't even make the first down marker on that to boot.
That kind of non-clutchness is what separates franchise QBs from backup QBs. Prescott is the latter. We've seen it over and over again. Can't wait until the Cowboys move on this next spring and draft/sign our real QB of the future.

Garrett isn't a great coach; McCarthy is a Super Bowl Champion. But neither are the problem. Romo, under Garrett (and Phillips, and Parcells) came back and won such games. Or, at least got the team into FG range where they had a chance.

Same as last year. They’d have a great drive in the first half by spreading the ball around and picking up yards with the pass. Then inexplicably, they’d get away from it. So either the offense is so easy to figure out that the defense adjusts or they have terrible play calling. Or both. Pretty vanilla in the end. Bend over, I’ll give you vanilla in the end.

You don't. You tag him and trade him for a 1st... maybe with luck the Chargers, Jags or someone end up bad enough to need a new QB but not bad enough to land a top pick. Maybe 6-10 ish. So you trade Prescott to them for their 1st and maybe a mid rounder included too. You sell high on his gaudy-ish yardage stats and low interceptions and hope that the dumb franchise you're trading with is dumb enough to not look at things like clutchness, late-game drives etc. Believe me, there are those teams in the league... the Chargers, Jags, and Panthers to name a few.

I gotta agree with you on this. With Romo, you always felt like you were in the game in a one possession game no matter how much time is left. With Prescott, if it's a 2-minute (or less) drill on their side of the field, you know he won't get it done. He'll either run out of time or airmail throws downfield that he has to force because he's just about out of time. His entire career he's choked on the road in these situations....but the baffling thing to me is that there literally is no hostile road atmosphere to deal with this year. Yes, he's worse on the road, but he sucks against any kind of formidable competition in any stadium honestly. How many times has he lost at home to Green Bay and Rodgers.... 4? Buffalo last year at home? Minnesota last year at home? It's not ONLY the road games.
With Romo you always had a chance to come back if you were within reasonable mathematical range, and when they did lose it more often than not wasn't his fault. Usually a missed FG, bad drop, WR fumble, something stupid like that, something like what happened to the Lions today. But you know what? At least Stafford gave the Lions a legit chance to win today. They needed a TD, they started at their own 20 with a little over a minute left and one timeout. And guess what? Stafford was clutch. Of course, the rookie dropped the wide open TD and the Lions lost. But that wasn't Stafford's fault. Stafford is no Mahomes, but he has the Romo comeback mojo.
Romo. At. Least. Gave. Us. A. Chance. Even the few times he did throw late INTs, at least he was pushing the deep ball, giving his guy and the team a chance to win... Prescott doesn't even try. It's sad.
Just like the New Orleans game last year. You know, the one where Prescott barely got to mid-field in a similar situation, and threw a hail mary with all the might of his weak arm that landed about 15 yards shy of the end-zone.
Prescott doesn't have the arm strength.
Prescott doesn't have the courage.
Prescott isn't good enough.
Prescott is not a franchise QB. ®

ummm.... you see me having seattle losing in buffalo AND miami? (I had that on there because the Seahawks have, in the Wilson era, tended to drop road AFC games even those that are well below their skill level.)
let's face it, the jets and dolphins are bad, the bills are criminally overrated, and the patriots are as limited as they've been since the mid 90s. In the nfc east, half the eagles roster is injured, the cowboys are the cowboys, and the giants and redskins (washington whatevers) still suck ass until further notice.
It may be low margin for error but even you've got to admit it's a criminally easy schedule, outside of the division meetings.
And the seahawks and rams, today, won 2 of the "hardest" out of division games on the slate all year.

that's not an impossible scenario in the NFC West if they're all clustered around there and we might see a three way tiebreaker at 11-5. Maybe with the 4th place team going 9-7 or 10-6. But I don't see them losing that many NFC East and AFC East games. Those divisions flat-out stink.
Hope that doesn't mean the sorry green gay fudge packers get #1 because of an easy division. None of the other NFC North teams looked good yesterday except Trubisky's 4th quarter. But who honestly relies on Trubisky over Aaron Rodgers? It worked in 2018 because their defense was earth-shattering great that year, but it has been very good but not quite great since.

The defense was awful on the first couple drives but the bottom line is, they gave up 20 points to a great offense that is finally fully healthy (NOT the same banged up team the Patriots held to 3 points in the SB and struggled much of last year) with an offensive kid genius at the helm and a new slate of weapons and better O-Line and a freshly motivated Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp fresh off the contract extensions.
Belly-ache about the defense all you want, but they gave up 20 points, most of them early in the game... and got off the field when they needed to. If your QB is unwilling to throw anything longer than 6-7 yard routes the whole game because he's afraid an interception might depreciate the monetary terms of the contract he is seeking, then you need a new quarterback. One that plays for the team, not himself. Plain and simple.

The completion % for sure, and keeping interceptions to as near zero as possible.
The Gallup/Ramsey play was a bad call. Ramsey pulled a Chris Fall/Derek Fisher. Ramsey is a diva drama queen who is still butt-hurt about the Cowboys drafting Zeke over him in '16. Just like the Hillary lovers; #stillasshurt about 2016. That bitch should be fined and suspended for flopping, tbh.
But it still doesn't excuse Prescott for officially not going deep the whole game (since, ya know, the one to Gallup didn't officially count). And intermediate routes, which should be the core strength of having Gallup/Cooper/Lamb all on the field at once. They HAVE to hit the 15-20 yard plays consistently.
The problem I'm identifying is that Prescott is scared of throwing against zone defenses that aren't Charmin-soft prevent zone. If it's man to man there's minimal risk of interception like on the Gallup/Ramsey play. But any kind of "confusing" zone? 4 yards and a cloud of dust, all night baby. Gotta protect that contract against any turnovers.

Again...idk...in the first half, he made some very good throws downfield. He's going to get paid regardless so I hope he's not letting that enter into his head. I'm assuming he took out massive insurance like Cousins to cover himself if he gets hurt. So he either signs a big contract or gets the franchise tag $. If he stays on the franchise tag, he should be covered by insurance.

They weren't really downfield though. The stat sheet might say Gallup had a 24 yard completion and Lamb a 33 yard completion, but in reality those were 10 yard throws that the receiver took for the extra yards. The Gallup spin move along the sideline against Ramsey was especially impressive.
The problem is is that Prescott is too scared to throw intermediate/deep against zone coverage (particularly cover-evens) unless the receiver is WIIIIIIIIIIIIDE open, and that's a problem. You have to have a guy who will make those throws. Sure, you don't want a bunch of interceptions, but... no risk-it, no biscuit.

Another Garrettbot similarity is how they made absolutely no adjustments to help a struggling offensive linemen, McCarthy just kept an undrafted rookie out on an island by himself the entire night.

rofl, reminded me of that one game against the Falcons a few years ago when Tyron Smith was out and his backup gave up 6 sacks to some journeyman defensive end because The Bot refused to adjust and give him help. Funniest part was when he left Dak in the game when it was a blowout only for him to take more of a beating. Didn't even have the programming to adjust and bring in the backup quarterback :lol

Dak probably takes the 4 yard checkdown and they punt. Daniel Jones has BALLS like his Giants predecessor, what a throw from the endzone. Sad the Cowboys don't have that kind of QB, tbh.

Giants were legit in 2016, on both sides of the ball... 11-5 and probably should have won in Green Bay... but then OBJ decided to morph into an idiot and spend the week in Miami on a boat like a boss, dick in a box etc... and that was the end of that.

Um... Outside KC, the best team in the league is also in the AFC. Hell, I'd argue that most of the top-10 teams in the league are there. After just Week One, the NFC definitely seems like the weaker conference.

Why are the Ravens the 2nd best team? Because they walloped the Browns? Until proven otherwise I consider them a gimmicky offense that can't win in the playoffs.

Because they come from a 14-2 season and got better in terms of names, and, yeah, that week 1 performance was probably the most dominant one out of any team, tbh.

They're the second-best team because they're the most talented, have the reigning MVP and somehow still got better during the off-season. 31 teams failed in the playoffs. I'm certainly not happy that the Ravens lost, but it's dumb to think they were a bag of shit just because they lost. San Fran and NO looked way worse.

But I definitely disagree about the NFC being the weaker conference. The AFC is top heavy but the NFC has more formidable / better depth of quality teams. Outside of the NFC East, of course. But IMO we're looking at a historically great NFC West.

The problem with the Ravens is they can't win if they fall behind early in games. They have to get a lead or at least stay roughly even. Two scores down early is the death knell for a Lamar Jackson team. He's basically the Anti-Mahomes.

The Ravens WERE that mediocre team that flipped teams every year during the early Flacco era. Outside 2012, I don't think I would say Joe ever outplayed Tannehill, but the Ravens still jumped on good teams with solid gameplanning, a stout defense and a beast rushing attack. Tenn beat all four of the top AFC seeds in the same year. Baltimore should be sick that they lost, but it shouldn't make them question the core of their existence or anything.
