Hey guys :) Its been ages since I’ve bought a laptop, I’ve been pretty much iPad dependent for about 10yrs now. I’ve recently become aware of a middle school kid that is a good student but is really struggling because of virtual school and his family’s lack of access because of financial difficulties. I would like to buy the kid a laptop but I don’t know where to start. Something basic, not too fancy ($$) that can hopefully get him thru to high school. Any suggestions?

Look into Chromebooks. They're affordable and should do what he needs for high school.

I wouldn't stress about it too much. Any new laptop you buy today will be more than sufficient to do anything he needs to do for school.

mrsmaalox - Chromebooks are basically the only option right now.. Laptops are on back order at a ton of places.. What ever happens do not spend over 3-4 bills for a Windows laptop if you do find one
