Romo never had the weapons Dak has either. He always had a WR1 that dropped it when it mattered and never had a RB on zeke's level, don't even get me started on the Oline

Stop it son, I know you're a Dak hater but this team is trash top to bottom. Dak will never be a Rodger's type QB and we shouldn't expect him to be with the talent he has around him. The entire organization just sucks as a whole. Losers with Garrett and Romo and losers with Dak and FatCarthy, it is what it is.

No one is saying "only". Defense was inconsistent and special teams was horrid per par. But the great QBs, the top-of-the-market QBs, win "in spite of". Mahomes, Wilson, Rodgers, and Brady have won "in spite of".

Dak Prescott wins games "because of", as opposed to "in spite of". That's why he's not a 35+ million dollar QB, unless some bottom feeder wants to pay him that and enjoy winning 6-8 games a year with an average QB being surrounded by lesser talent due to the salary cap.

I agree. He's in the 15-17 range, one spot below Josh Allen. He's a 25 million QB, not a 35 million. Also I'd consider trading/cutting DeMarcus Lawrence. Dude has been a dud for quite awhile now.

Millennial_Messiah
09-27-2020, 07:41 PM
also, extend Aldon Smith for 3 years. Think of him as the Grant Hill of the NFL. His prime coming in his 30s because of his very low mileage.

It was 09-12

12-14 was peak Bryant, then he was never the same after he badly broke his foot in the first quarter of Week 1 in 2015. Shame.

The offensive lines were pretty bad up until about 2012, 2013, when they drafted Frederick and Tyron Smith became of age.

Romo was good enough in 2013, but he didn't play Week 17 which the Cowboys definitely would have won (Kyle Orton kept it a 1-possession game).

Romo was good enough in 2014, they were a bad call, a punch-in touchdown and one defensive stop away from an NFC Championship date in Seattle, where they had already won and Seattle's offense was dismal at that point in time.

09-27-2020, 07:49 PM

This is why Green Bay can't be taken seriously as a Super Bowl contender, no matter how good Rodgers is.

They've proven time after time that they just can't stop the run.

Agreed 100%. People like to only remember the Murray fumble and the Dez catch bad call, but that sequence you brought up near the end of the 1st half was extremely underrated.

It wasn't just about Bailey, who struggled at the end of the 2014 season, bounced back in the otherwise-lost 2015 season, and struggled in 2016/2017 and was obviously cut the next year.

The main culprit of that sequence (10 point swing) was Jason Garrett, none other. He called timeout like a dumbass immediately after the Jason Witten catch which was initially ruled a 1st down, which gave the refs/Packers a chance to review it, and it was overruled as short. Then, he called a dumb pass play on 3rd & 1 when the run game was humming. Incomplete. Then, naturally, Bailey missed.

The Packers 2014 team was a great team that was a botched onside kick away from a date with Brady in the Super Bowl. True. But, forgotten is, one round earlier, the Cowboys outplayed the Packers and were the better team, but lost because of 3 extremely unfortunate/fluky/mind numbing sequences which cost them the season.

The BS thing is, when I throw that same type of pass in Madden/MUT, it gets picked off by that underneath guy 99.9% of the time. The game won't allow me to throw it high to adapt to the play like Brees did there. EA sucks ass.

I was a spurs fan from age 5 in 1999 up until May 2017. I don't respect Popovich anymore, as a human being, at all. I used to be 50/50 on his decisions but respectful of his overall success, but not anymore. He's washed up scum these days.

that's a TD... ball game. Saints most disappointing team of 2020. Vikings and the refs stole their last 3 bites of the apple in the Brees era.

'Twas a good era for the Saints, they do have a ring to show for it which their fans should be grateful for; however, now is the time to move on. They're looking like a 9-7 team, at best. Bucs clearly the best team in the division.

kamara touchdown was play of the week

that, or Foles getting clobbered by 3 Falcons and still simultaneously being able to throw a 50 yard bomb for the game winning TD to Miller.

if Dak had thrown a TD in the end zone instead of the pick at the end, that would have definitely been play of the week, considering how close it was to a sack... shades of Eli Manning/Tyree and for a split second I thought it was going to be a TD, but Gallup and Noah Brown had to be running the same route which attracted Seahawks to the ball like a swarm of wasps. For shame.

Rodgers over Brees always and forever

Brees sits somewhere in the top 15 all time. Maybe 20.

Comparing a 41 year old Brees with a dead arm and a 36 year old Rodgers isn't really a fair fight tbh. Brees was still slinging it pretty well at 36. Now he has to rely on efficiency, which he did fine with last night. He had a higher QBR and a higher passer rating than Rodgers last night. He wasn't the reason that the Saints lost last night. That fumble by Hill and penalties were the difference. The Saints actually beat the Packers in every offensive category last night including return yards.

He has regressed every season. I'm not sure if he's worth a max deal. Malcolm Jenkins actually made a few good open field tackles last night, and the horse collar penalty against him was garbage. He can't cover anyone anymore, but his strength is the blitz and run stopping.

Yep, I've already stated many times why they need to move on from Dak. However it won't change anything with this organization. The scapegoat is always a moving target under Jones (Romo, The Bot, Dak, the defense, Marinelli, Kiffin, Linehan, etc). Nothing will ever change tbh

So Malcolm Jenkins is a box safety, a poor man's Jamal Adams but 12 years older, and more noteworthy for his political crap these days than his play. Got it.

As for Lattimore, y'all should probably let some shitty team like Miami give him a max deal. It's time to rebuild and collect those comp picks. Because the window with Brees as a contender is over. Last year's OT playoff loss was the "last bite at the apple", as Joe Buck righteously put it as one Kirk Cousins delivered the nail in the coffin.

Fitting that the Saints contention window would begin and end with a Vikings home playoff overtime game that ended on the first possession without the other team getting a chance to possess the ball, and questionable PI/no PI.

I think Brees is one of the most consistent of all time. I think he extraordinary at routine in that Dome. But I buy into the criticism of all the high draft picks the Saints used to surround him with talent. I put him in the same class of Young, Manning and Warner in terms of accuracy.

But there are a decent amount of QBs I would choose before him to adapt on the road. And this is even in his prime.

Keep in mind, Murica has a fucked up election system and a fucked up congress that results in sparsely populated racist states being over represented, so that 30% really ends up with 45% of the vote.
