I always saw him a stereotypical Spurs player. Averaged 22 ppg over in China last year. Can he be the spark plug that the Spurs need off the bench?

What the spurs definitely need is another combo guard. It's not like they don't already have 6 of those

Most of the time, "combo" means not good enough at either position. With guards, it's a guy who is only 6' tall, can shoot when he's left wide open, and can put the ball on the floor successfully as long as he isn't in traffic. Doesn't matter if he can create his own shot, or if he has a PG's ability to get teammates good shots. He's a combo guard.

People love to look at the few exceptions around the league. Personally, I'm done with half-assed "combo" guards. If Ben Simmons comes available, come to Olympus and tell me.

Jimmer averaged about 38 career in China, tbh.

Sure. He'd be a perfect mentor for our young core. I can't imagine anyone better to teach them how they should invest the millions they are earning now.

Is this the right time for "bend over, I'll show you perimeter D"? Or "he can't be any worse than Forbes"?

I watched a few of his games on youtube this summer. The dude got hammered and the officiating was terrible. He was always the focus of the other teams defense and often got doubled or tripled. The competition is not as athletic or as long as NBA players but they came at him with the physicality intensity of an old 80's NBA team. He got bloodied up a bunch and got hacked nearly everytime he was in the lane. He got nominated for defensive player of the year in the CBA. He still averaged 22.3 ppg and 5.6 assts.
