Latest IBD daily national poll had narrowed to 3 back to 6. Can Trump somehow pull it off again? Are polls wrong in battlefields?

Improbable? Anyone got the upset?

Two upsets via the same method? Highly unlikely.

There’s a reason why everyone in Trump’s circle kept pleading with him to expand his base from the time he took office.

He never tried. I’m glad.

2 outta 3 of Democrats major talking points have zero influence on majority of American lives - climate and racism

Additionally the party most against government is the one preaching to grow it

I still believe the average working middle class American sees this thru. Ultimately this isn't about Trump or Biden. This is a decision on ideology.

Hahaha. Lol at these people thinking they can make a difference when China, India, etc continue their polluting - all they'll do is make the US poorer and these other countries richer.

These so-called "scientists" can't even predict accurately whether it's gonna rain tomorrow much less 20-30-40-50 years from now.

India emits half as much carbon as the US.

China has already announced the goal of being carbon free by 2060 and peaking their carbon emissions in ten years.

They can't predict it because global weather patterns have been changing due to global warming. Weather forecasts were pretty damn accurate just 10 years ago.

Dr. Fauci: “The coordinated response has been – there are a number of adjectives to describe it – impressive, I think, is one of them. I mean, we’re talking about all hands on deck… I’m down at the White House virtually every day with the Task Force… So I can’t imagine that, under any circumstances, that anybody could be doing more.” (03/22/2020)

Dr. Fauci: “Clearly, early on, we made a travel ban with regard to China. That was a very smart move, right there, because what that did was prevent a major influx from China. Today, the new China is Europe, because Europe now is the major element, the major geographic component, that is now seeding other countries throughout the world. And that’s the reason why we made the very difficult but appropriate decision to have a travel ban on the European countries. So we are definitely ahead of the curve on that.” (3/13/2020)

Dr. Fauci: “I don’t recall anything different than in our discussions that we had with the president that he said things quite similar publicly… In my discussions, and in the discussions of other Task Force members with the president, we’re talking about the reality of what was going on and then when we would get up in front of the press conferences, which were very, very common after our discussions with the president, he really didn’t say anything different than we discussed when we were with him… I didn’t really see any discrepancies between what he told us and what we told him and what he ultimately came out publicly and said.” (09/09/2020)

Dr. Fauci: “We at NIH, as you know, have right from the very beginning put our foot on that accelerator in every aspect, including the development of vaccines and therapeutics. And as I described in my opening statement, we actually started that in January, literally days after the virus was known and its sequence was published.” (5/12/2020)

When he was asked in March whether the Trump Administration was “doing everything possible,” Dr. Fauci replied, “I believe so… I think in the context of what we’re being challenged with, I think everybody’s doing really well.” (03/10/2020)

The post office was going to send every American household five masks and Trump killed it off. Trump followed Fauci's advice for like a week until he heard a talking point on Fox News that he has used since. LOL defending Trump having private positions for his donors and public positions for the rest of us when that was such a big deal four years ago, but now it doesn't matter when it's literal life and death. The economic health of the nation depends on Trump's response to the pandemic and he has been an utter and complete failure. Everyone getting back to normal my ass. Restaurants are getting their teeth kicked in right now, so are movie theaters and bars and tons of other small business. There is no getting to normal when this virus is raging through this nation, as it has been for a full eight months now.

I early voted for the first time ever in my life today.

I have voted exactly 3 times in my life (12' 16' 20') and I have gone to the same polling place all 3 times and I had never had to wait to cast my vote. Just in and out with no problem.

Biden ran a smarter campaign than I thought he ever would. He featured things like $15 minimum wage and a muli-trillion dollar climate change plan to court young voters. What? You two think you can CONTROL a pandemic (especially this one that is so contagious)? Short of near total, full-time lockdown similar to earlier this year, no one can CONTROL it. We've gotten better at treating it, we know more about it - not saying that it can't mutate into something else.

It amazes me how much some think that they can prevent climate change, control pandemics, etc. - that they know enough about it - much less can change/affect it.

I know a lot of Taiwanese people so I'll speak to them (not New Zealand). Chinese people are VERY compliant, obedient, whatever similar term you care to use especially with anything related to family (also very multi-generational - not any of this I want to move out when I turn 18 - so children return after college, grandparents live with or near) - in short, they are much more family centered than Americans who tend to be more independent, live alone, etc. They are much MORE likely to wear masks, social distance, not travel, stay home, cook healthy, etc. They are also very much into chinese medicine, building up immunity, exercise - healthy living compared to Americans and most importantly, would do ANYTHING to protect the family.

They also all think very alike - unlike Americans - who come from every race, creed, background, cultures, geography (city/rural). It is much easier to get them to buy into any program such as a national/mandatory mask program - and the laws are not like the US (where our rights and liberties are encoded) - nor are they litigious, prone to go against authority, protest in streets, etc.

That very DIVERSITY that makes America great - makes it difficult for everyone to buy into any one thought/idea/reason.

I don't think it's a race thing, and I can say that RMT meant to say it was either. I do think she's trying to finger-wag about the US's lack of monolithic thinking and is probably assuming that's a liberal issue. The thinking would be in the 50s or whatever, Americans pulled in the same direction and got a bunch of things done. Like if the US actually had to mobilize to win a war like WWII, it'd be easy to see how we'd fuck it up.

Thing is, though, there was never a homogeneity of thinking, just in the representation of thought. We used to just be shown one America, and those you disagreed didn't have a voice. Those who bought into that shit see what's going on as a breakdown of American culture, but that's not why things have been getting worse, and it's not why we've become even more individualistic. That's because capitalism has co-opted the American spirit (which was always somewhat shitty and predisposed to this sort of thing like with slavery) and made it to where individual success was the way to measure the health of a society and any critique of that was considered communism and therefore un-American. Can't have strong social safety nets, because that's communist. Can't tax the wealthy in order, because that's communist. Can't enforce health safety codes, because that's communist. We have an overreliance on voluntary actions to protect the vulnerable.

I don't hate charities, but the idea that folks have to give up their money to do the things the government should be doing sickens me. It's the same idea with masks, where people think they should be able to decide if everyone around them gets exposed to the virus. Those "communists" societies seem to be doing much better because they don't have dipshits thinking they're just as smart as scientists and that they reckon they're plenty safe on their own without all that "communist shit."

Yes. I’m absolutely saying the governor should force people to wear masks in public so they’re not putting people around them at risk. No matter how ridiculous you try to make a mask ordinance sound, government is supposed to play the role of making sure people aren’t needlessly endangering each other. A mask mandate in the middle of a pandemic should be a common sense as having streetlights when major streets intersect with each other.

There should also be government assistance, tbh.

You always have a certain small percentage of people with mental disabilities, and you simply cannot reason with those people, tbh, but they're a public health hazard.

Take foldren, for example, and whoever adult is paying for his internet connection. Clearly people that require some type of government assistance not to endanger those around them.

That's actually not true. Post 9/11, for example, this country rallied together. Same thing with Pearl Harbor...

It's just a shame that shitloads of Americans need to die for this country to finally rally around a common cause.

It's also reprehensible that something like this pandemic was highly politicized from the get go. After all, we lost more Americans to this than both 9/11 and Pearl Harbor combined.

Sure, snowflake. You can't stop there from being random ass holes who will selfishly ignore the good of the people around them. Issue is that in the US that's like 30 percent of the population and that one of the political parties basically shelters all of them. Congress appropriates the money. Pretty basic.

Two things.

First as has been pointed President Bad Combover vetoed none of the spending bills and proposed and championed the supply side tax cuts.
Second the POTUS as leader of the executive branch EXECUTES the actual spending.

Your take on how the Federal government works is even more basic than schoolhouse rock.

Mask wearing is an issue of public safety and that is why it easily passes constitutional muster as the right to life is pretty much tops in the hierarchy of granted rights. There's a reason that executions are reserved for on the highest of crimes and even then challenged.

The former vice president has bought $54.1 million in TV ad time for the last eight days before the election, more than double the $26.9 million in purchases by the Trump campaign, according to Advertising Analytics, an ad tracking firm.

The playing field for TV ads will tilt further toward the Democratic nominee on Wednesday as former New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg starts spending $15 million on Texas and Ohio spots that will promote Biden and attack Trump's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bloomberg, a billionaire who is also spending $100 million in Florida on TV ads and other efforts to defeat Trump, conducted polling over the weekend that convinced him that a big play in Texas and Ohio would be worthwhile in the campaign's closing days, aides said.
