Liberals tried to co-opt the spirit of Alexander Hamilton. He'd want to make America great again, again though.

Hamilton was extremely conservative. I don't see how this is news.

Last I checked, someone isn't required to be Christian in this country.

By the standards / precedents of the day I'd argue he was pretty liberal.

Of course you do but Hamilton was a leading federalist and the liberal founders the antifederalists. Jefferson famously despised him.

Jefferson famously despised everyone. He put his VP on trial for treason, which carried a death penalty. :lol

Read his biography. Don't even remember anything much on the religious front. He wasn't a hardliner if he was.

Read his biography. Don't even remember anything much on the religious front. He wasn't a hardliner if he was.

Stories were circulated that Hamilton had made two quips about God at the time of the Constitutional Convention in 1787. During the French Revolution, he displayed a utilitarian approach to using religion for political ends, such as by maligning Jefferson as "the atheist," and insisting that Christianity and Jeffersonian democracy were incompatible.

Looks like he was a Chris kind of Christian, tbh...

Jefferson was the Obama Christian of his time in effect. Not in actuality, as he did read the Bible and ponder on its meaning.

Well, at some point around that time, England though both of them were terrerists... all about optics, I guess.

Terrorists for what? IIRC, Jefferson was for the French and Hamilton was for England in terms of trade favorability.

He was one of the founding fathers, integral to the American Revolutionary War, and aide to General Washington.

Burr indicated a desire to get the western states at that time to secede. And he hardly despised everyone, mostly the federalists like Hamilton. Burr killed Hamilton btw.

Secession was/is not a crime. Burr was acquitted.

They revolted against the British... that's why it's called a revolution. On the British side, they were terrerists against the crown, on the other side, they were freedom fighters...

More precisely, they were called treasonists. Terrorists is a more modern term. And on the other side, they were called loyalists.

It wasn't that obvious. Left trying to rewrite a lot of the history. Frankly, the split among Americans back then is somewhat reminiscent of today. The revolutionaries (treasonists) felt like freedom was the obvious inevitability / in their best interest. The loyalists didn't want to rock the boat. They were often rich and wanted nothing of it. Then there were the great unwashed. Many were patriots. Many were ignorant / apathetic.

There's no revolution coming today though... much different times back then.
