I'm tired of our best shooter getting his name dragged through the mud on here. Ya'll better start putting some respect on his name. Dude has more made 3's than savior Lonnie, KJ, Murray, and DDR combined. Everyone here wants him out the door, but who is going to replace that level of elite shooting?

I'm thinking he's getting a 4 year 30 million deal and that would be a steal for the starting SG of our future.

Also, quick question: When can we officially re-sign Forbes to his new contract? Like what date?

Steve Novak was an elite shooter; would you still want that garbage on your team?

Great job! All of those unofficial "Guess How much we pay Bryn Forbes" threads were getting annoying. We really needed this.

I say we max him out and move him to the 3.

Spurs’ defense pays the highest price.

I hope Forbes makes some money, getting signed by a contender. As an undrafted guy, he's earned it. But I don't want him back on the Spurs. I guess the draft will have a big say in this. If someone like Haliburton falls to us and is chosen as the BPA, there's really no justifiable reason to spend any money on Forbes, with so many other guards on the roster, and obvious needs elsewhere.

Steve Novak never led the Spurs in made 3 pointers. He also never had more made 3's than four other guards on our team combined. Imagine if you would, Derrick White drives in who kicks it to DDR for a wide open 3, who pump fakes nobody and drives to the hoop for a contested jumper only for at the very last second he kicks it out to an even more wide open Dejounte Murray who refuses to take the shot and turns the ball over while trying to weave his way through traffic. This is our offense without Bryn Forbes

if there's no takers then the spurs will resign him. 2 years / $8 million.

Nah, come on. I'm all for shitting on Forbes every day of the week, but he's not as bad as advertised here. It takes a huge amount of skill to be an NBA-caliber shooter (an undeniable fact about Forbes), and to beat the odds and get into the league after going undrafted, even more so. Did Pop put him in a position to fail at every step? Absolutely. Are the Spurs undeniably better without him? For sure. But I wouldn't go as far as saying he hasn't earned it, especially given the visible amount of work he puts in his craft and his body. I'd love for him to be someone else's problem, and succeed in this league as a career journeyman bench piece. That's his role, and he can perfectly succeed at it, under a more level-headed coach and system.

Wait, I mean - he sucks! He'll be signed to a negative contract, and actively pay back the money the Spurs spent on him. Bet on it.

As much money as it takes to reach the luxury tax ceiling plus the 3.5 times penalty.

Roger Mason and Gary Neal prove that these Forbes types are a dime a dozen and Spurs can find them quite easily.
