I will say this isn't too groundbreaking. It has been odd they didn't get a better assistant to co lead with becky, but a new coach would bring in new assistants so hiring a assistant only to fire them would be dumb. Obv Pop did good in the bubble but could not be blamed for lacking the energy to redesign an offense in the 2 weeks after the draft and sell tickets as the face of he franchise during a deep recession.

Add to that, if we are trading the vets pop loses his generational lifeline and friends. It's a hard fucking job!

Does the NBA really want to risk losing an older coach to COVID and the publicity that comes along with it? Now, I'm not sure if these other leagues have a coach as old as Pop...
