Due to no SuperBowl appearances for the Cowboys in nearly 10 years, should they sign
T.O.??

Hmmmmmm??

I believe Proposition 1012 was passed banning any NFL player who dishonored the Dallas Cowboy's Lone Star to never play for a Texas NFL team.

We're safe!

I'd sign TO in a heartbeat, just like Keyshawn, but I wouldn't sign SPREE even if the entire team died in a fishing accident...

Marcus Bryant
11-10-2005, 02:20 PM
I don't see the problem with signing Spree. It's not like NVE's career was any less lacking when it came to, um, 'baggage'.

When you have NVE starting at the 2, TP logging 40+ minutes and a hurt Manu playing when he should be resting, well, Spree, come on down.

Latrell Sprewell's agent reportedly let the Hawks know that his client is interested in signing with them. Of course he is. We're sure he's interested signing with every team in the League at this point.

PM5K

Again, I'd never sign Spree, I'd rather have two Rasho's than one Spree, that should let you know how much I don't want to see Spree as a Spur.

I mean what's the big deal, it's still early in the season so there's no reason to panic, Sanders will do just fine...

OT:is it me or does Van Exel look like mini-Charles Barkley?? Strange resemblance.

Marcus Bryant
11-10-2005, 03:31 PM
What's the big deal? You already have a short swingman rotation. Two are out and one of the two remaining would be better off resting.

Cheap ass SA.

"Whut's wronguh weeth duh Freeman? Wy kain't duh Spers play dere?"

11-10-2005, 03:33 PM
If we got Sprewell, then we might be in danger of becoming the new mavericks, or one of those teams with buttloads of talent that cant mix

I like the resigning of Melvin, that guy's a huthla

Marcus Bryant
11-10-2005, 03:36 PM
The Spurs have shown they can bring in vets and handle personalities. I mean, it's hard to argue that Spree would be problematic and he's not welcome in SA when you have NVE on your team. I'd say both are rather similiar in that the events that gave them their bad raps happened a long time ago and that both hate losing.

You forget PJ Carlessimo, I will be chocked if Spurs sign Spree with PJ in the staff.

Haven't heard. A groin injury can be a nagging one. It sure would be nice to not have the pressure on him to come back ASAP.

I'm trying to find the reason why a fan would not like to see the Spurs add a 5th swing permanently for this team, especially with an aged perimeter rotation that has already lost 2 players to injury and with another playing at less than 100%.

I really like a 5th swingman but not Spree.
We know both because of who there is not 5th swingman,
and yes it sucks to have only 4 swingman when you try to repeat.
Now we have Sanders, I really hope he stays with Spurs but we know that he will be waived as soon as Finley and Barry will be ready to play.
Maybe a trade will change that.

Not until about month 3 when the bastard couldn't make up his mind. But in principle I had no objections originally.

Cuz when Duncan and Rasho went down, I didnt hear you complain (I could be wrong but...) about the Spurs not signing another big man.

Marcus Bryant
11-10-2005, 04:23 PM
They were actually carrying 6 bigs at the time.

ChumpDumper
11-10-2005, 04:23 PM
I would prefer going toward the long SF/tweener side of the spectrum for another signing -- that's what our defense has been lacking. Lynch fits that bill well, and I'll never pass up an opportunity to pimp Noel Felix. I expect a more permanent signing to happen when prorating the deal would make if more attractive -- worked with GRob (wouldn't be a crime for a second go round).

If the New Orleans/Oklahoma City/whatever Hornets will take back Radoslav...

Dre_7
11-10-2005, 04:30 PM

And they currently are carrying 6 Guards (counting Sanders, not counting Bowen). So I dont see why they need to sign a cancer like Spree. They're are other options out there.

NOOK waived Lynch a couple weeks ago. He's a free agent.

No is too much a running team for Rasho.
Chicago is the best target for Nesterovic, they have no center (Chandler is a PF).

They had 6 bigs to cover 2 positions last season. They had 6 players to cover the two swing positions last season. Or, 9 "guards" to cover the 3 perimeter spots.

They were carrying 4 swingmen prior to signing Sanders to a non-guaranteed deal. Or, if you'd like, they had 7 players to cover 3 positions prior to signing Sanders.

It's a stretch to count NVE as a 2, as well as TP and Beno. The Spurs were lucky they were only facing the 'Cats last night.

leemajors
11-10-2005, 04:44 PM
weird, you think someone would have snatched lynch up. he never lacked effort.

ChumpDumper
11-10-2005, 04:50 PM
It's fairly clear the wheels have come off Lynch as far as athleticism goes, but he's got the size to deal with larger SFs and perimeter PFs on a spot basis a la Kersey/Ferry/Wizard/GRob/etc. Taking that pressure off Horry would be a benefit as well.

If everyone is healthy, it would be pretty ridiculous to go into the playoffs with our three point guards and an obvious defensive gap.

True.

Especially when the third point guard can no longer bring the ball up the court under pressure.

I understand that, but the fact of the matter is, why sign a guy like Spree before they know how long Fin will be out. It doesnt seem that he will missed several months or anything like that. All I am saying, is that there are WAY better options than a cancer like Spree.
