You know what...

He's not bad at all.

Has more post moves than both Poetl and Eubanks. Misses a lot of them, but the idea is there.

Good passer

I just don't see where he fits in the future unless we really are getting rid of Aldridge by the trade deadline

Sounds like this guy is a shot blocking machine for a 7 footer with a 7-3 wingspan from Oregon St. Check out this stat from a game against SA's own top college BB team in 2019: On December 18, 2019, as a senior, Kelley posted a season-high 23 points, six rebounds and three blocks in an 88–78 win over UTSA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTSA_Roadrunners_men%27s_basketball). Kelley finished with 211 blocks in two years at Oregon State. Here's some info on his offensive skill-set from a Scouting Report from Hoops Prospects: Let’s begin by discussing Kelley’s offensive efficiency, the first of three unique positive characteristics that the Oregon State product possesses. The senior is an economical frontcourt player; this is evidenced by his career true-shooting percentage of 62.6 and his overall offensive production of 1.35 points per possession (PPP), which ranked at the 97th percentile in Division I this season. He achieves these efficiencies with a consistent diet of powerful dunks, intelligent off-ball cutting, and active movement as the roll-man in pick-and-roll action. Kelley has adequate hands but does not need the ball to be effective. The seven-footer excels at finishing “around the basket” to the tune of 1.44 PPP (94th percentile).
Kelley’s offensive profile and game video give me a reason to believe that he can effectively contribute at the NBA level in the pick and roll (PNR), while also being an effective and opportunistic finisher around the basket via the dunker spot and as an off-ball cutter. This profile can pair nicely on the pro level with a “floor-stretching” frontcourt mate, along with a playmaking engine archetype, such as Kemba Walker or Luka Doncic.
Yeah, to Austin he goes (enjoy 6th street!), but he can definitely turn into another Drew Eubanks story though. Interesting find & signage. GSG!!! :)

If he were NBA roster material, someone would have drafted him somewhere in the 60 draft picks.

I like it. This guy is a swat machine, with a mean attitude. 7' with a 7'4 wingspan, he looks like he can put in another 20 lbs. He can be a big body down low

Probably as a insurance for 3yrs later. If he can stay with the Spurs and develop, have some post moves and seems to have some speed and decent defense.

no one drafted van fleet & he just became one of the highest paid players ever
no one drafted alex caurso & he starts for the current nba champions
2 examples from recent drafts should i continue there are a plethora of more examples

Meh.

My favorite inexpensive free agent big this year was Harry Giles, who was signed for the minimum by Portland. In the first game of preseason tonight he played 25 minutes and posted a line of 18 pts, 14 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, 2 blocks, and a +11.

No one wants to come here. This is why the Spurs go after the Ewwbanks, Bryn Forbes, and Kylor Kellys of the world.

I wonder why Cam wasn't as quickly waived as this guy? (if they're both going to end up in the G league)

Watching the highlights, he does have a lot more moves than Poodle and Ewwbanks. At 7’ with 7’4 wingspan and he works hard, he’s a perfect project. I wanted Spurs to draft an athletic big for our 2nd pick, but they probably went for insurance on a solid PG in Tre. He plays a traditional C unlike Metu, and very active in the defensive end. He moves well on PNR and should benefit from a better PG to dish him the ball where he could just dunk it. Aron Baynes was a bruiser, but I think this guy is more skilled and plenty of length. And he chose the Spurs over 4 other teams. He’s ready to work. I’m excited for this kid.

This guy is basically our modern "draft-and-stash Euro". We'll probably see him in 3-4 years. We probably avoid doing international draft and stashes anymore because of the $$$ involved (and because other teams improved their international scouting). The Spurs basically transformed our GLeague team into this. Smart way of doing it...

He got moves facing the rim :lol. Just that he’s already 23 and I don’t know if he’s body frame can add another 20 lbs. He gets moved out of the court on a right spin. He has range but low release almost on his forehead that’s why they get blocked. But he has the skills and attitude. But I like that the FO are into defensive guys than ever.

Probably we got more than enough bugs and with Keldon out, we need Cam to fill in as training body.

This is fairly good news, because if they’re doing a quick sign and cut, that likely means there WILL be an Austin season this year. I had my doubts.

You have to wonder how they're going to do the logistics this year. No more back and forth between Austin and SA due to COVID risks. Or no more frequent flying to whichever city the SA Spurs are playing to minimize COVID risks. There has to be some kind of change logistically.

I know they’ve changed the two way rules for this season from 45 days(practice, travel, games)total, to 52 games, out of 72. There was no limit on days, that I heard, anyway. The active game roster is also 15, versus 13, previously. They might run the gleague as a more separate entity, like you said, at least until the vaccine is widespread. Also, they might start it later, like the NBA (7-8 weeks), which would put it nearly, if not actually, in February.
