That’s good for small market teams

Nice. Keeps him out East and a good win for small market teams going forward tbh.

Until he pulls a Leonard / Davis / George / Westbrook / Harden and still demands a trade anyways with years still left on the deal.

This. He can force himself to a team of his choice for pennies on the dollar and still get paid.

Having him locked up for 5 compared to 1 (Leonard) significantly increases the Bucks' leverage tbh. Obviously, it's comparable to the Harden situation but I don't know if Giannis is as much of a garbage person as Harden is....we'll see I guess.

IDK look how easy PG13 forced his way out of OKC one year into a 5 year deal right after coming 3rd in MVP voting and looking like he was worth every penny.

Fair enough. I think Giannis is different from garbage human beings like PG/Hardens/Kawhis/AD but you're probably right tbh.

Tbf, if Giannis pulls a Playoff P and the Bucks get an equivalent package that's a huge win for them.

Never know. Leonard didn't look like a garbage human being until 2018.

From what I've heard he might low-key be worse than them.

Gonna be tough to top those guys and other modern day stars tbh. But again, wouldn't be surprised.

Millions of LAL fans now crying after they even signed his brother in a sham way to recruit him. Good for the NBA!

I don't know about that. More likely, it's a case of, as an international player, he was probably always far more likely to stay than an American diva.

On The Jump, they spun it as a win for well run organizations. Funny, that didn't save the Spurs, Thunder, Celtics, etc. who are all thought to be just that.

It's the reason why I prefer a foreign superstar over an American superstar because you have a higher chance of keeping them.

Definitely a factor in why I think Giannis is different.

this. These SuperMax deals are just a concession to the NBA elite. They demand trades regardless. It's just a matter of time. No FO can keep up with their demands. It will take a new CBA to fix the culture.

I'm just waiting for the first player to demand a trade to Atlanta and say its bc they want a lifetime membership to Magic City or whatever there.

When he gets tired of losing he'll go Westward. Just like Kareem Abdul Jabbar. ;)

No one will want to go to the Warriors after Curry demands trade to Charlotte

Jabbar won a title first with Bucks
Also Finals MVP in 1985 and should have won Finals MVP in 1980 but the voters - the media - hated his reserved personality
Don’t get ne wrong Magic’s game 6 was epid but let’s not forget Jabbar singlehandedly destroyed the entire Sixers frontline during the first 5 games

Jabbar won a title first with Bucks

He won 16.6% of his rangs with the Bucks and 83.4% with the Lakers.

His jersey in Canton is Purple and Gold, by the way :)
