I have never had to but I can't think how others can, It must be one of the hardest things to do, I knew this dog and I don't know how CrazyOne could do it, You have to have some nerve, I wonder how long it takes to get over a pet,

I wonder if some never do, have you ever had to put a pet to sleep?

Well, Mouse... since you talked me into it, this thread looks like a good place...

Here is Gigi (short for Georgina) 1993-2005. We just had to put her to sleep Friday. Her favorite game was to get me to throw her shoe. Rather than fetch it and bring it back to me, she expected me to chase her down and try and take it from her.

my cat got hit by a car in front of me, I had to put it out of it's misery myself.

I've never had to but I know deep down that I'd rather do it myself than pay to get it done professionally.

Horry For 3!

I think Debbie was asking how you put the cat to sleep, not how you buried it,

I think he's saying he killed it with a shovel.

I didn't do it myself but I did take my dog to the vet and held her as the vet did it. Not easy.

I had to put a month old kitten to sleep who I'm assuming got it's head smashed by a door.

Oh gosh... I had to put my cat down after his long battle with kidney failure. We had him on meds and they even did 'dialysis' for him but a few months later he just got worse. I think he knew it was his last day because he was so loveable and let me carry him. He HATED to be carried. He was ready to go because he had been through a lot. We took him to the vet and put him down. It still makes me cry to this day and it's been 6 years.

We've had to put down two dogs, and about 3 cats. Both of the dogs had bad arthritis problems, 2 of the cats kidney problems, and the other cat got squished between the celing of the garage and the garage door as it was closing, not a pretty site :(

I have had to put a few cats to sleep. I have allways been of the philosophy that it is better to take the animal out of its misery, then to let it continue to live in a horrible state.

Sadest thing I have had to do.

Oh, Gee!!

When a pet became too sick or senile our family would simply take it for a drive to the south side. much more humane really

Putting a horse down is the absolute worst. Fucking Feds took the good stuff that worked quickly and effectively off the market where even Vets can't get it.

Pay for my airfare and a place to stay and I will come down and do it for you.

Your obsession with farm animals is well known. Try that shit in South Texas and you might be the one getting shot.

I hope I didn't sound like it. I had to take that one-month old kitten to the emergency vet to do it and it cost me $100.

Neither one of us could bring ourselves to do it on our own. Do you know how tiny and fluffy and cute a one-month old kitten is?!?!?
