I experienced this with another player on the B-ball court. About the same age but told me his dad had history of heart problems so I was alerted. They hit him 5 x with the paddles before they got him back. He turned purple, starting frothing at the mouth and was ungodly rigid. The gym had a EMS/ firestation right next to it. While others tried CPR I ran full steam to the station and those guys came over and saved his life. It was NOT pleasant.

The big mistake was the EMS guys told his wife I saved his life when THEY did. He started clinging to me calling and such saying I saved him... I finally made him go to the EMS station with me to rectify the situation about who saved his life. It was super uncomfortable. Thankfully he moved and the EMS guys admitted THEY saved his life.

I feel so bad for what Eriksen's wife had to go through. I have no idea what happened to him and if it can be rectified with surgery or drugs. But if not, thats it. For sure. For how long he was on the field, and seemingly how long it took for the EMT crew to get out there, I though they were just shocking a dead man. But glad he's alive. It's hard to imagine him continuing to play even though I'm not sure what the final diagnosis is. But it's likely to be some kind of genetic/chronic issue. Also, I'm assuming that he's banked enough money that he and his family are going to be comfortable.
