:lol trying to kick XP in the snow. Even when the XP was a 20 yard chip shot teams were smart enough to go for 2 instead of attempt that kicking shit.... Detroit-Philly 2013 Week 14 comes readily to mind. Snow completely takes out the kicking game.

WTF, seriously... punt from the +32? Might as well go for it at that point. It's 4th and 7, not 4th and twenty.
That'll make that saddest punt ever top 100 list, probably. Even though it's only the first quarter.

It's still early. Titans are a slow starting team. Also, the Bears game is the one GB needed to win to keep the #1 seed, not tonight's.
If GB wins tonight and loses in Chicago next week, they lose the #1 seed provided the Seahawks win, regardless of whether the Saints win or lose.
Millennial_Messiah
12-27-2020, 09:30 PM
Seattle wins all tiebreakers with GB because of better common games record, since they will have the same conference record assuming GB beats Titans tonight.
GB, even with the win tonight, can still easily fall to #3 with a loss in Chicago next week. Chicago is in a win-and-in situation; they will bear down, with that defense and stellar QB. Seattle must not take the 49ers for granted. Saints must not take the Panthers for granted. Next week shall be fun.
If GB wins next week GB is #1 seed
If GB loses at CHI next week,
If Saints win -and- Seahawks win, Saints are #1, Seahawks are #2, and Packers finish #3.
If Saints lose -and- Seahawks win, Seahawks are #1, Packers #2, Saints #3.
If Saints win -and- Seahawks lose, GB is #1 since they have the H2H tiebreaker heads-up over NOLA since there would be no three-way tiebreaker.
So All I need for Christmas next week (late present) is a Chicago win and a Seahawks win... is that too much to ask? Shouldn't be. Also would like to see the Eagles beat the Deadskins and of course Dallas to kick the Giants' asses.

Can somebody please explain to me the narrative that was conjured up this season regarding Pederson’s job security? He has a recent Super Bowl win and has made the playoffs each year since until now. He stuck with Wentz longer than some would, but you can argue he had to do his due diligence there because of his massive contract (which Philly is going to have to eat anyway if they plan to move on).
Simply put, if he wasn’t in the most obnoxious and idiotic sports town, would this even be a conversation? Marvin Lewis got damn near 15 years for doing jackshit, and Tomlin has done what exactly in the past decade, let alone last five years? There are countless other examples...I’m not saying I want him as my HC, but goddamn dude has one bad year in COVID time and he gets 86’d?

Completely 100% agreed. Pederson is one of the best.

that, and, as the commentary explained, the Titans are on a record low all time pace for sacks... I believe they have 12 for the whole year. :lmao paying Clowney $20 million/year to play 4 games and not rush the passer. Seahawks did fine by themselves by sparing themselves the cost of overrated Clowney and picking up cheaper but more effective options in Dunlap and Mayowa.

I agree, his job security shouldn't be in question but his playcalling is seriously mindboggling at times. Going for it on 4th and 15 w/ plenty of time left, down 13, and on the edge of field goal range? Especially with a rookie QB w/ only a few games under his belt. Not like he had a seasoned gunslinger back there. Also, him abandoning the run/read option after the 1st quarter made no sense either considering they were chewing Dallas up with early on.

Agreed
The Redskins in 2012 had the right idea by keeping the read option all 8 quarters of both games... and Dallas just couldn't stop it. DeMarcus Ware of all people was the worst culprit for us. That's how they got the division and Pederson should have taken a page out of that playbook to win the division this year, but, instead, they'll get a premium draft pick.

No doubt, I can’t argue with his crap play calling today, or even for the better part of the season. He’s been in desperation-mode for awhile, but his wacko play calling has helped mask his team’s offensive deficiencies over the years. I have no idea how they made the playoffs last year with WRs signed off the Burger King nightshift

His job shouldn’t be in jeopardy but it’s fair to question how much of his great coaching in the Super Bowl season was actually Frank Reich/John Defilippo. Without those as the two lead offensive assistants Wentz and the offense have taken a big step back.

Well looks like unless the NFC LEast winner pulls off the upset (well if it's the Redskins they have zero chance against Brady) it's almost certainly going to be Brady vs. Rodgers in round 2. Rodgers on a week of rest. Hasn't been all that helpful to GB in the past though. Bucs are the better team on both sides of the ball IMO.

Unfortunately for Brady he’ll be just about the only player on the Bucs comfortable playing in Green Bay January weather. Agreed the Bucs have more overall talent but I think that’s more than cancelled out by the week of rest + HFA in a cold ass stadium.

Bucs knocked the pants off the fudge packers in Tampa in October, granted it was warm weather, but I think the GB January thing is overrated. How'd that work out for the 15-1 Packers in 2011? How about the 13-3 Packers in 2007? They also lost at home in 13.
Last night's game was lost by Tennessee because the pass rush doesn't sniff that backfield. Antonio Brown and Gronk have played in a cold game or two in their playoff careers. The Bucs have real pass rushers both in the front four and on the blitz. They're built to beat GB and win in the playoffs.

Yep, and Dwayne Haskins is the same exact player, at best. Somewhere between him and EJ Manuel.
Kyler Murray is that X-factor if you're looking for a Vick type QB; but he'll be long gone before Tampa? I'm not sure he'll be great or not but he does have some of that Vick/Russell Wilson game in him.
Otherwise, 2020 has a much better and better well rounded QB class, from Herbert to Tagovailoa.
Why do you want to make a premium pick QB from last year (one with an ego at that) a backup? Also, what makes you think Zona would trade last year's 9th overall (that they traded UP for) for a 4th or lower?

In both instances, the Packers were up against a Giants team that was better equipped for cold weather than the Packers were. Those Giants teams thrived in slopfest games where neither team could consistently move the ball in the air while both Packers teams relied on passing as their biggest strengths. I remember all the 2007 Giants players were legit excited about how much being in Green Bay gave them an advantage even though they were on the road.
Im not saying they’ll be as bad as the Titans though :lol, just think the Packers will actually a sizable weather advantage. Green Bay is 7th in the NFL in rushing, Tampa is 28th (notwithstanding the effort Arians has made to establish the run this year). Brady also desperately needed that bye week his last few years in New England to recharge. This year might be different since he seems to be peaking now vs. limping to the end of the regular season but the Patriots’ last 2 super bowl appearances never happen if Brady didn’t get the bye week.

any given sunday, any of those 3 can beat the other imho
GB didn't "dominate" the Saints. They won in an empty Superdome in New Orleans' historically weakest month of the regular season throughout the Payton-Brees tenure, and the game was tied until Taysom Hill fumbled on a dumb trick play midway thru the 4th quarter.
Saints were leading at halftime and should have won that game. They were the better team. They were also down Michael Thomas and just getting used to playing offense without him.

Washington should now go find Cardale "12 gauge" Jones and sign him too while they're at it
Nah. I'd prefer it if they just ran their punting unit on every 1st down to protest whatever. Let the Eagles have 70 or 80 points. Who cares. As long as Philly wins.

The 2020 Washington Redskins / Football Team / WTF's are, in fact, a bye week, tbh. :lol Similar case for the 2020 Giants, they just aren't good.
Dallas is coming in hot and would have the best chance to knock off TB amongst other teams, but they don't control their own destiny to make the playoffs and win the division.
The WFT has a good defensive line and that's the way to beat Brady, tbh. If they manage to get Smith at a decent level for the playoffs, I trust them more than the Cowboys to beat Tampa Bay.

Nah. WTF defensive line might be talented but they're too young. Need both talent AND experience to get to Brady. Brady will fuck with the brains of the green youngins like Young and Sweat all game long with screens, pass pro swaps, trickeration, etc.
Need guys with experience like DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory to put the "hurting" on Tampa Tom, tbh.

Definitely defense is scary in the playoffs. No 7 game series, just 1 good day from a defense is all it takes.
Even if Alex Smith can't play, still not a given that the Eagles will win next week imo that backup honkey QB for the Football Team looked pretty good in the few minutes he played. Drove the ball up and down the field and would've tied the game if that one f@ggot didn't drop the ball tbh
Heinicke was back to back FCS Heisman IIRC. Did pretty good his one year in FBS when ODU moved to CUSA. He'll probably lead them to a W, imo.

It's not only that. A couple different bounces here and there and they would be with a winning record now. It is easy to forget now because they have completely given up, but up untill a couple of weeks ago the Patriots were playing everybody tough, including this same Bills team.

It’s the roster he’s assembled. Your premise that Belichick has no control over this shit roster is retarded. His shitty roster is the result of countless flubbed draft picks that Brady helped Belichick cover up with elite QB play. All the sudden drafting that useless Indian n!gger halfbreed N’Keal Harry over DK Metcalf becomes a much more noticeable fuckup without the GOAT to carry water for Belichick’s inept WR scouting.
The muh difference bounces argument works both ways. The Cardinals game for example involved muh different bounces that helped. It’s not like New England has lost every close game its been in the way you’re pretending.

Do you really think the Patriots would be in position to make the playoffs this year with Brady in there? :lol
And no, this isn't the roster Belichick assembled. He's missing an entire lineup of players because of COVID opt-outs, + injuries, + having to sign a QB that can't throw because the guy that won 6 rings with the Patriots decided to screw the franchise over by leaving, knowing damn well they didn't have money to get a decent replacement.

I sure as shit know they wouldn’t be struggling to get 100 total pass yards in a game if they had Brady.
The huge cap hit from Brady was the result of him agreeing to restructure his contract over and over again to give the Patriots immediate cap relief by deferring a cap hit. Saying he screwed the Patriots by doing that is another made up narrative. He exercised his rights as a free agent and Belichick had no plan to replace him.
What offensive players are they missing from COVID would make them any better? They have absolutely no talent at WR or tight end. Once defenses figured out there was no passing game to speak of New England couldn’t move the ball. Injuries are a part of the NFL, other teams have them too.
:lol if the Patriots went 1-15, you’d be celebrating the 1 win as a heroic effort by Belichick

That's the thing though. Looking at their talent pool, the Patriots should have been fighting with the Jets and Jaguars to see who got Lawrence, instead of toying with .500 all season. In hindsight, they should have tanked hard. Lawrence on next year's Patriots team would have been an instant playoffs' contender.

It’s not hindsight, i said it at the outset. Belichicheck is a terrible coach without an elite QB to cover for his flaws so he needs Lawrence, but he was more interested in trying to show Brady up with an 8-8 participation trophy than he was in planning for the long term.

You're overestimating the Dallas roster tbh. The only two names on defense are Jaylon Smith and Demarcus Lawrence who have both packed it in after getting their big contracts. Everybody else has been complete garbage all season, except for Diggs. Talent is there at running back/receiver but the QB carousel and decimated offensive line the whole season has diminished the effectiveness of the skill position players. Can't do anything when the O-line is dominated every play and you get nothing from the QB position. Dalton has only recently began to look competent these last few games

Again, it’s Belichick’s roster. They have horrible skill positions because Belichick is fucking dreadful as drafting them. You say “they have the worst skill positions” as if the football gods woke up one morning and said “We hereby curse Bill Belichick with shitty skill position players that he has no control over!” This isn’t the first time Belichick has assembled a roster with dogshit skill position players either. In 2006 their best receiver was Reche Caldwell but the offense was still productive. Gee I wonder what the difference was between 2006 and this year was!
Their defense is still top 10 in points allowed, while the offense is like 28th in points scored. The defensive opt outs aren’t costinng then as much as an inept offense that can barely get 100 passing yards in a game is.

I really don't disagree with any of that. It just stood out this season without having Brady. I suppose one could argue that Harry/Myers/Byrd might actually be an upgrade for what they've had in the past. They look capable but Cams not someone to consistently throw catchable balls. And they totally busted on the Michelle pick and possibly the Harris pick.
that, and, as the commentary explained, the Titans are on a record low all time pace for sacks...
