This was one of DJ's best games of the season. He was a little too hesitant on offense, but overall pretty good

Will Lonnie stay as a starter with White in the Manu role?

Some nights, DeRozan looks like an all-star and the best player on the team. Other nights, you can't wait to get rid of him in the summer.
Thing with Derozan is that as long as your team has a comfortable lead, he'll play with confidence. It's when the game is close that he'll crumble in the clutch. All those playoff humiliations at the hands of Lebron scarred him.

White will start sooner or later, I'd bet.
Walker goes to the bench and might be able to do more in that role.

White needs to start, Lonnie needs to come off the bench
Mills has already taken the Manu role

It won't happen but with this log jam, assuming White can stay healthy, should we trade Patty by the deadline? His value can't get any higher than it is now.

If you want to think about the future (what I would do), yes. Aldridge, DeRozan and Gay need to be packaged too.
If you want to see how far this team can go, clearly no.

It was, wasn't it. This is why we are enjoying watching this team. There has been a few games where we fell short but it was still a joy that we could hang with them. Minus that jazz blowout and those Houston games, it's been a good ride.

During that surge late in the fourth Murray scored on a fast break and Nugs called a timeout. All the young Spurs we’re elated running off the floor and DDR was walking to the huddle shaking his head smiling. I think DDR is digging running with these young bucks who are breaking out.

Someone's minutes are going to be sacrificed though and that will likely be Lonnie but I was thinking Patty could net us a player that fills an area of need.

Think the reaction was more towards Big Body who was trying to chest bump Yak. But either way, DD has to feel good to actually have decent help for the first time in his SA career. He never got a fair shot having to carry deadweight like Brent and Belli.

I know it's great to be ranked 4th, but the standings are so fucky. Memphis has two fewer losses than us -- of course they have fewer games -- and a ton of teams have 8 losses.
Still, this team looks really solid and potentially dangerous, since the young players still have ceilings to reach, plus arguably their best player from last yaer coming back.

The rotations are going to be interesting once White is back. I wonder if Walker gets a rest. It just shows you that starting Forbes and Lyles last season was terrible. If we had last year's LMA, we would be a strong side. We still need a reliable 4.

I like when Keldon and Lonnie(?) were celebrating going back to the bench and Demar was looking at them smiling, enjoying. I mean these guys truly enjoy playing with each other, Keldon being a big part of it, and the veterans have bought in, especially Demar who seems to enjoy and proud of the young guys. Good times.

They were both HOFers and franchise players. Patty's a fucking role player. If he's expecting another bloated contract because he got into shape for the first time in four years, he can fuck off and take his culture with him. Of course, I'd prefer to trade him while his value it still at it's peak.

He's a good player and I would say this year a legit all-star. The thing about him that I have never liked is how he always chokes under pressure and his lack of control of emotions when he's frustrated. Currently though he's a good fit with this Spurs team since this team has no championship aspirations. His veteran presence is great for the young guys on this team.

He took a major paycut right after the 2014 championship when he got something like 3yr/$10 mil contract.

He took a major paycut right after the 2014 championship when he got something like 3yr/$10 mil contract.
Not a paycut. He had a shoulder injury that kept him out for 7 months that summer. He missed half of the 2015 season and his percentages were way down. He had no leverage so he had to accept the best possible deal. From Patty himself that summer:
“I haven’t been through free-agency before, having this injury changes everything again,” Mills told Fairfax Media (via Sydney Morning Herald). “I have no idea how it works, but I’m guessing it will affect [my next deal]. But it’s out of my hands. It is what it is. We’ve got to make the most of the situation and move on.”
You can see his injured shoulder here:

He took a major paycut right after the 2014 championship when he got something like 3yr/$10 mil contract.
So I don't agree with this. For one, Mills didn't take a paycut. He almost literally made three times as much in 14-15 as he did in 13-14. He was the seventh-highest-played player on the 14-15 squad. I know the exploding cap made that seem cheap, but we're actually talking about the majority of the MLE (and indeed more than the tax-payer MLE) at the time. Danny Green, who was objectively better and more proven, was only making $200k more, and Kawhi was making about a million less.
Secondly, Mills wasn't really that good in the 2014 playoffs. He averaged seven points in the four series. He bumped up his scoring to 10ppg in the Finals, but we're still talking about a guy who played 15 minutes a game in that series. Dude earned his ring and was a good player, but it wasn't clear at the time that he was worth more than, say, Gary Neal. If he'd've gotten more than $11M/3, it would not have been by much.
The Spurs gave Mills a fair contract as if he weren't injured. I think doing that was their way of rewarding him for playing through his injury. He didn't take a pay-cut, and PATFO didn't leverage him into a cheap deal. He got legit financial security and a huge pay raise, and the Spurs finally found their back-up PG. It was a good deal for everyone.

Some nights, DeRozan looks like an all-star and the best player on the team. Other nights, you can't wait to get rid of him in the summer.
That's who he is...he is over 30...this won't change...I always think he needs to be traded no matter how good he plays because he ensures mediocrity
