That would be a rather successful offseason but I am sure that some Spurs fans will find a way to complain about it. But for the rest of us who are stable it will be a good haul.

No, then we will have six players under contract.

Manu
Kidd
Parker
Bowen
PJ
Malik

I think we have room on the roster for at least six more, don't you? :lol

Add Jax and that's seven.

I think that roster would give us a fighting chance against the lakers, particularly if TP, Jax, and manu showed good progress. It would be sweet to see Malone sitting on the bench, staring blankly as the Lakers were getting eliminated from the WCFs knowing he'd be thnking "I just played a year at vet minumum for shit".

Add Kerr to that mix as well as maybe a player like Devin Brown and Menke Bateer.

And Willis, Kerr. DFerry content to watch another season from the bench, etc

I'd love it. My biggest beef of signing Kidd was who was gonna be our 4/5, our "banger". Brown would be splendid.

I dont think Ferry is comin back, he sounded like he was done at the championship celebration.

"I just played a year at vet minumum for shit".

Can't you see the "priceless" commercials replaced with a "worthless" tagline - with Malone charging a Greyhound ticket on his MasterCard to his home back in Utah.

Replace Ferry with the other double-R, Horry.

Horry PJ Brown Jason Kidd

eh, decent offseason :fro

I'd love it if Horry signs with us and then have him break the Lakers hearts with a cold blooded three at the end of a game, while the Lakers are stuck with a player like Malone at the end of games when Kobe gets doubled. Who's he gonna kick the ball out to when they need a 3? Fisher? George? They can shoot, but I havent seen them kill teams at the end of games like I saw Horry do over the years.

It would a great offseason, but I will wish the Spurs would have gotten Brand or Jermaine.

Not ideal, but I'd still be happy.

Kidd/Parker
Manu/Jax
Bowen/Jax
TD/Malik
PJ/Willis

Horry
Kerr
Some other chump.

That would be a contender, no doubt in my mind.

I think I could live with that.

That is a hell of a team if you ask me.

With Kidd, Manu, and Bowen, the Spurs would arguable have the best (or one of the best) perimeter defense in the NBA. The MVP + PJ will still make it tough for opponents to get in the paint (did I say rebounds?). In the offense, I am drooling at the idea of Kidd and Manu playing together (think passing), and we still have Tim up front.

Parker, Jax, Malik, Horry, and Willis in the bench would probably be one of the deepest benches in the league. Kerr and Bateer would be very good for 11th and 12th man.

This is a team that can ball with anyone, anywhere. Bring on the Lakers!

Actually, I shouldn't have included Horry because I doubt he comes to us.

Still, it'd be a great team, and Horry's place could be taken by a decent vet. min. big man, I'm sure. Actually, I'd go for a big (6'9") SF/PF if we could find one (a banger to replace Ferry)...

I have to say no, even if I do appear to be crazy for saying so. If we can sign PJ (or Malone, maybe Zo although his health worries me) along with Kidd and keep Tony and Manu and all of our guys and keep them happy then I'll be happy. Now if we lose to the Lakers after we get those guys, well then I'll probably start a Trade Kidd campaign. But as long as our team has good chemistry (and Tony) and is winning, then I'll be happy. Sadly, this is the NBA, and that all probably won't happen. If we sign Kidd at the expense of our young guys, then I dunno what I'm gonna do, but I don't know how on earth I'm gonna be able to stomach watching Kidd as PG for the Spurs with his wife being shown during every timeout (and every other chance they get) while Tony is playing for another team.

Archie, my head is saying that Kidd is not the right player for the Spurs. He's a good player, but he's not what the Spurs need. We already have a good point guard, but we don't have a replacement for David. If we can get Kidd and a good big guy and keep Tony and Manu on top of that, well then I'll be happy, but if we can't do that, then I won't.

Not my first option, but a great option none the less :)

Add in a Robert Horry and Erick Strickland and its all good.
