Well, CO2 is the new boogeyman and they dont produce any. It's not a boogeyman; it's a damaging, undesirable waste product.

Who is in?MAke your case.

"Clean, green" and "no CO2" are just buzzwords.

Like with windmills and solar panels?

Like with windmills and solar panels?Taking a pass on making your own point?

So much the worse for your own point.

honestly, dont know enough about it either way.

but ripe for disasters and from what i understand waste storage is still an issue. not fundamentally opposed to it, though

Buzzwords lol.

There is definitely room for nuclear along with solar and wind.

There is definitely room for nuclear along with solar and wind.I didn't say there wasn't. Saying "how about nuclear?" doesn't explain why it's desirable or necessary.

CC: if your intent was whimsical rather than information based, that's totally cool. There's nothing wrong with spit-balling.

There's also nothing wrong with having no more information about your own OP.

Nuclear doesn't care about the weather. I'm in.

Don't know. If one did -- why?

Do you have a link?

I was asking opinions. If you are ignorant about advances in nuclear power thats on you. Its not my responsibility to educate you.

Actually one part of one plant shut down. Frozen safety sensor or something. Not dangerous, just overly safe.

Winehole, if you want to educate yourself on modern nuclear you might want to start by googleing "terrapower".

Ive always liked Nuclear.
Waste a problem and given the problems we seem to have with hacking our computers that control various industrial processes... Im starting to hesitate. France gets 70% of the Big E from nuclear.
The accidents possibly extending for many years is also disconcerting. France is also a country to learn from on this.

Dont ever call it green or you will scare most of the red team away if you like it.

oh.

And its not an end product energy source.
Its a way to get to cleaner fairly quickly.
The plants would need to be dismantled eventually for our children. Or my children, or perhaps grandchildren.
Im not sure about the time line of these phases we go through.

Nope. I think we can have safe nuke energy and I think it should be a "one approved design" factory mass produced. Reinventing the wheel every time is what makes nuke so expensive now.
