Will Tony Parker and Tim Duncan continue their dominant play? Will Manu be at 95%? Will NVE hit the 3's? Will Bruce Bowen own Paul Pierce?

I didn't hear anything but I am guessing it is to help bolster the bench without Brent and Finley-- just like Manu came off the bench last game. Pop was very complimentary about Rasho's play after the last game. I think it is telling, though, that Pop would start Horry over Nazr.

I hope we don't go with the shittiest offensive lineup the league has ever seen in the 2nd half. (Rasho, Oberto, Marks, Bowen, and Parker) What was the coaching staff thinking for that 3 minute stretch in the 2nd?

Sorry Argies but Manu still sucks big ass :( or is too much hurt. Pop, let him heal his wounds and leave him on the bench please.

Sucks big ass? That's a bit harsh considering that Davis only has 8 points. I don't think that Manu is getting the ball in his hands enough for him to get going. It's the Tim and Tony show right now. At some point, teams will start doubling and tripling Tim and Tony and Manu will have the ball more.

There's no need for him to do that right now. Tim and Tony are hot and he is still nursing the injury. If they start clamping down on T & T, Manu will get his chance.

Another telling fact on the season.... Spurs are dead last in free throws attempted but lead the league in personal fouls.

How does a penetrating, inside the paint scoring team featuring Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker allow this to happen?

It's a little early for conspiracy theories but it looks like Stern and the NBA officials are going to make us earn this championship the hard way.

Solid D
11-11-2005, 08:45 PM
Basically, the Celts made their run with Duncan out.

Sanders is just out of sync but he did a couple of nice things on D. Marks was horrible on D trying to keep up with Gomes. NVE hasn't learned that Dan Dickau's only threat is from the 3-pt. line, so he backed off Dan with the shot clock down to 3. :(

Pop's experiment with 3 bigs was horrible.

Pop tried some really interesting combinations tonight and was definitely sure in advance that he wanted to get Marks and Oberto some floortime. The fact that Nazr was pretty much relegated to garbage time as the sixth big man makes me wonder what is going on at practice that we don't see. Pop insists he will play the guys that are doing the best. A big lead and a back-to-back was the perfect night to get Nazr the chance to get into better game shape, but instead we saw Marks. I don't buy that it is about lowering his value to re-sign him cheap. Looks more like an attempt to see how they could function without him.

Boston did not play big tonight. Pop started Duncan at Center with Horry at 4, most likely to because LaFrentz likes to play on the perimeter. This is 1st of b2b with tomorrow being the get-away game (I wanna go home). They will need Nazr and Rasho fresh to battle in there with Haywood and Etan Thomas, a bigger, more physical bunch.

Anything remarkable about this win, other than what seems like a strong 3rd quarter? The box score looks like Timmy and TP carried again, manu being limited in minutes and a plethora of 6-8 point efforts from the rest of the team.

Rasho started the second half, though and when they went small he even countered it some with Rasho and the 4 smalls in the fourth quarter. The back-to-back seems a reason to have played Nazr more and Rasho less. Come on, do you really think match-ups dictated Marks and Oberto on the floor before Nazr? Spurs don't need Nazr fresh-- they need Nazr in shape and a blow-out was the perfect chance to get him some time, but they used the chance instead to get Marks and Oberto playing time.

"Pass the ball! It's a TEAM game!"

Pierce yelled back, as if words would change the truth.
