Frankly, I think Lyles' NBA future is on a short timer at this point.

He struggled in Utah. He struggled in Denver.

He struggled in San Antonio despite being given ample opportunity and playing time to develop in his first year. He somehow ended up as a third-stringer despite being in the NBA long enough to be a "vet"...then wanted to pout about it and demand a change of scenery.

I wish him the best of luck in the GLeague or playing overseas.

He will certainly be competing for a spot on the bottom of the roster.

Can you reveal your source or does that have to remain a secret too?

So what I could see is SA being willing to take on Iwundu and Melli but needing the pick, and NOP probably wanted the pick in order to move Redick. Dallas only had one pick to give, and NOP relented on compensation, removing any benefit SA could provide.
