Poland have been England's group rivals in World Cup qualifying on six occasions over the years, most recently for the 2014 competition in Brazil as well as for the 2006, 1998, 1994, 1990 and 1974 editions, with some memorable clashes taking place during that time.

Ofcourse they are better on paper and generally England performs very well in Qualifying
But they are mentally weak, lack unity and break under pressure.
We were better in the last Euros. They were better in the last World Cup.

Even if England has the best chance, they're England and will find a way to blow it.
I called Belgium to win Euros.

Not in a mood for England after that kneeling stunt; and no Lewandowski, so Poland's goose is probably cooked anyhow.
Going to be watching the second half of the San Marino vs. Albania game. Don't have ESPN Plus, so options are limited.

Okay, I'll flip back. San Marino's bubble just burst anyhow. It was 0-0 until they conceded in about the 62nd minute or so. A shame; I was hoping they'd get something out of this gritty performance. San Marino only scored twice in the last 26 matches, so I doubt they'll get the equalizer.

Did Poland bend the knees?
Announced before match we would not. Boniek comments few days before
“I am absolutely against such actions. But I do not know if we will kneel with the English,” the ex-Juventus player and Poland’s star of the 1982 World Cup, said.
“So far, this topic has not appeared at the training camp. There were so many more important, more dangerous issues than this, which is the last topic that interests us.”
Boniek called the action a version of populism, adding that it “achieves nothing.”
“Footballers sometimes kneel, and if you asked some of them why they were kneeling, they wouldn’t even know,” Boniek added.
Imagine walking on their field with WC spot on the line and kneeling. A little ridiculous.

Did Poland bend the knees?
England actually invited them to do it, and they declined.
As they were doing it, one Poland player pointed to a patch on his jersey that read 'Respect'.
The ESPN crew must've thought they meant their BS kind of respect to even show it.
But my guess is the player(s) meant to respect one's self and not take a knee to the globalists.

Very facile analysis
For one, Italy played 9 games total, 8 group stage vs powerhouses like swiss, northern Ireland, Bulgaria and lithuania; they tied half and won the other half, then they did lose vs NM.
In south America it's 18 games and you can't get an easy group. The teams that are qualifying that have lost more than 5 games, have won twice as many as Italy did. And there are teams like colombia that have lost 5 games and are at least for now not making it, because like Italy they tied half their matches.
Italy choked, period.
And Portugal isn't through yet ! :lol but 12 of their 18 group stage goals and 80% of their wins (5 wins, 2 draws and a loss) were against azerbaijan and Luxembourg. Chile, Perú and Bolivia would kill to be in a group with Serbia as their main competition, Serbia survived the brutality just fine.
Bottom line is that euro has lower level of competition, but also lower margin of error because of number games. The higher number of games in south America makes it harder though because like a league vs a cup, you can't get a favorable draw / hot streak/ injury luck to carry you through

and yet, it's been 20 years since a south american nation lifted a World Cup trophy. The salt :lol
That's just the odds. UEFA gets to put 4 times the amount of teams Conmebol puts. Conmebol teams have no margin of error. If anything, it is laughable that the UEFA vs Conmebol WC count is as close as it is, tbh. UEFA should have, at least, 4 times the amount of WC's Conmebol has.

Is this true?
Qualifiers in Europe aren't brutal. They are broken. They have an unfair shitty ass system, where, depending on the draw, you get a cakewalk or a crapshow where you cruise through most games and determine your qualification in just one game.
A team like Macedonia would never be one game away of qualifying to the WC in South America. A team like Chile, which is already out in Conmebol, might get a group vs the likes of Luxemburg, Macedonia, Andorra and already be qualified in Europe.
No South American team would lose 5 games in the European qualifiers.

I think CONMEBOL is fair system, except for some games manipulated by questionable refs decisions, at the end, best teams always go forward. There are much more countries in UEFA, they can’t make a league system. Instead they go for smaller groups leagues and playoffs. Not sure why Italy failed to classify again, they must have done something wrong.

disagree, colombian roster has much better skills and physical attributes but their collective system sucked ass for all the qualys, their coach is super conservative and they went through something like 800 minutes without scoring a goal. Peru has a thin roster but they play like a team. you are right about that game between them, but its not really comparable to italy vs NM due to the structure of the tournament ... I think they will beat australia / uae but single elimination games are unpredictable..

It seems we go towards a 3 4 1 2... I would rather see a classic 4 4 2 but we lack right wing, the thing is Pavard is done, dude is just horrible. he is so bad that France cannot play 4 behind, no decent alternative to make the system work. To avoid Pavard you go 3 4 with Coman playing the piston. Coman is great but not a defender. This 3 4 is exposing a lot Varane tbh...
For the rest DD idea is quite set with Varane, Kounde and Lucas. Then he will most likely go Pogba (Thouameni is good but lack of creation on offense), Kante with Theo and Coman. Grizou, Benzema and Killian.
At 6 months of the WC, a lot of concerns with the starting 11... starting with Varane, Pogba, Kante all declining and Griezman who sucks bad lately. Bench and the rest are from solid to great but the vertebral column Varane Pogba Griezman is worrisome to say the least. Alternatives are Kimbempe, Tchouameni/Cavaminga and NKunku (hopefully not that dickhead of Rabiot).
All in all all will depend on the level of key vets: griezman, pogba and varane

Pavard has always been ass imo, he scored that nice goal in the WC and that’s it

should be clear for anyone with a brain that this team is gonna go out with a whimper as per par with that faggot neymar "leading" them tbh
Brazil have been playing really well as of late
Not saying they will win the WC tho
They have talents, Vinicius is killing it... Brazil will always be Brazil, one cannot not consider them among at least contenders on any WC tbh. Now from that to smelling Hexa there is a huge cap... dudes are seriously lacking of humility.
They have been playing well but against sub par competition, they do that all the time entering in WC full of confidence after meaningless friendlies win.
It reminds me 2014 when they defeated a Spanish team full of drunk players before the WC, I swear to god, media went bad shit about the team being the only favorite and best team in the world :lol

Troussard for Brighton.
Brighton's manager is finding all sorts of really good players cheap. They get taken and he replaces them.
This has to be one of the most successful starts for any team who advanced to the EP. 5 straight years they stay up and finished in the top 10 on a tiny budget.
These dudes have not been relegated, amazing feat.
I am partial to them as I saw their stadium as it was being built and thought it was a giant rollercoaster, could not wait for a ride. And a friend of mine went to the University of Sussex. It has an older retired south coast fanbase splattered with really tatted up hair colored women smoking while pushing their babies in fancy strolers, living quite comfortably. Yes, the moms... not teenage caretakers. The ONLY "county" in England to put a Green party MP in. Really weird area. Rich and very liberal. So different than other places in England.
got off course there...

I think he actually meant to do it as he was pointing at his centerbacks like "see, I told you so" and they were pointing back.
Alderwerald and Vertohngen (ex. Spurs) were playing with him.

England actually sounded optimistic after holding the ball against Italy and producing a 0-0 draw.
They think they can timidly sneak into the WC finals like they did in the Euros…
I don’t think so. Their fans don’t think so,
Southgate thinks so it appears. So they try not to lose yet again I guess.
I will also some of the Euro teams look tired and don’t really care about this warmup “tournament”

Peru is gonna choke the playoff to get into the WC. They are lucky to be in this position, Colombia was a much better team. That Colombia-Peru match was just like Italy-Macedonia. Colombia missed some incredible chances and Peru scored a counter at the end.

Who knows how many thousands went to Saudi Arabia to support the team . . . too bad for all the effort to end in one missed penalty kick. But if the team must resort to penalty kicks to qualify, then has no business going to WC.

Tata Martínez is a horrible coach. The Mexicans are playing without any coherent identity. Their style is apathetic - and there exists much infighting based on the inconsistent rotations set by the coaching staff. As a result of zero continuity the team looks lackluster. They will struggle to earn a single victory in the upcoming WC tournament - without a major coaching change.

I like the list.
Wales are tourists. Even if they go forward in a weak group they are tourists.
I would call the "can surprise" list: shocking surprise.
If you were given the top 4 or the field what would you take?

You think France could be dropped and still take the 3 left as better than the field?
(Just like to get a feel for the disparity or lack thereof in this WC. Italy was always a team to be considered and they are totally gone. OOps, two fails in a row for Italy. Its sad imo.)

I don't give a shit about the UEFA Nations League performances, Deschamps was experimenting imo; besides th WC is in November and Pogba will have a few games with Juventus under his belt until then.
I know people bring up the defdending WC Champion curse (no repeat, bounced in the group stage) but the defeat vs Switzerland is the best thing that could happen to France, it's a good kick in the butt.

I'm not concerned by Nation Leagues games, Deschamps used that as friendlies and tried to experiment stuff indeed. Issue here is that experiments have not been very good, he has tried several options in the midfield to get a B plan ready in case Kante and/or Pogba are not well without success. Grizou is not the playmaker he once was, age is showing which makes France even more dependent on Pogba playmaking in particular to launch Mbappe rocket by his passing. Defense is meh at best (Pavard is unplayable, Varane is old...). France will probably play in a 3 5 2 and asks Coman to defend on the right side but historically France does not handle very well that organization. Attack is just wow... kilian, benz, coman, dembele, Nkunku.. and having Benzema commanding the pressing is gonna be huge for this team but I don't know if it is gonna be enough.
we will see, it is gonna to be an exciting world cup

Oh fair enough, i don't know anything about the new coach. Just browsed some PSG stuff on the web and the fans seemed happy with the pre-season so far but I know he's usually a more defensive coach? he is a pretty good coah with small teams and no aging stars where he can impose intense work without the ball starting with the forwards. PSG has not the roster for that, the only way for PSG to defend is to steal ball possession, Galthier teams let the ball to the opponents. Galthier will be fine in the French league because the team will have 70% of ball possession, with this team comparing to competition even a rookie coach would win the league, this won't fly in the European scene.
