IF Pop is able to keep his minutes down this year, he is going to have amazing Per 48 Min stats and a great PER.

I would hope this would be the year that the voters would get over the hard ons that they have for Big Ben and see that TD should be a mortal lock for DPOY.

Timmy is looking better than ever to me right now, in all aspects of the game. Offensively, defensively, rebounding and yes (Knock on wood) his free throws just stay healthy big guy and it will be mighty hard to keep that 3rd mvp trophy away from you.

Tony has played excellent all year so far. Last year, he only played maybe 2 games in this type of stride.

Anyway, as Sean said, if Tim can continue hitting his free-throws, he'll win the MVP. He's like 90% so far this season. :)

I think Duncan is having the best season of his career so far, except for maybe his first MVP...that outside jumpshot, its just so pure. Hes really raining hell on teams when hes hitting his jumpshot, because hes got such a terrific low post game and he can take any big man off the dribble.

From what I have seen so far this season, Tim is looking fantastic. The post moves are back with the good footwork, there is no hesitation in making his moves and the jumper and FT's are just smooth. If Tim was playing 40mpg he would be an absolute lock for MVP. Tim being thin = good thing.

6 of 6 FT and 1/2 3PT, is it luck or the work of the shooting coach? I think the latter is true, because Duncan did have a significant improvement in free-throw shooting, once his only weakness. The same could be said of Parker. 6 games should be enough to say something like this, though somewhere in the season the sloppiness could come again.

In TP's season so far, I would say those numbers are pretty consistent (Outside of the two games with low ast numbers)

Last nights game was a real treat to watch. Tim Duncan looked as smooth on offense as ever. When he took that first three pointer I could tell it was money, and Tim didn't dissapoint. The jumper and FT's looked really smooth. I think this season Tim returns to his 75-80% FT shooting. If he can go higher than that I would be extatic because he gets to the line so much and by making the FT's can only help his confidence and overall team offense.

I hope TD continues his play, because he looks as good as ever, with potential to have his best season yet.

Not in my book, yes, he has been astounding, and when the other Spurs get rid of the rust and start finishing plays he will be even more phenomenal. The numbers are so awesome, it is hard to imagine him keeping them up. I'd be satisfied with 16pts. and 6 assists

No Player is going to play great EVERY night, so, with that said, we will see if he is consistent when 2 things happen, (1) he does not get intimidaded when opposing teams start getting rough with him, (2) when he has 1 or 2 bad games, and comes right back playing as good or better as he was before.

Besides the relentless aggressiveness, Tony is finishing so much better, simply amazing. He's actually shooting his layups instead of just chucking them in the general direction of the basket.

And he's using the teardrop again, much more and to better effect than last season.

And still avging 6 AST.

When Manu gets back up to speed, and Brent gets back, the Spurs backcourt rotation will be one of the best.

That's just about what he's been averaging the past two seasons. I could see him settling in at about 19 points and 6-7 assists a game. For some reason I don't want to label him a 20 point scorer at this point.

So what you're saying is that if Parker has a bad game today, the first six games are meaningless? Six out of 7 games at 23 ppg and 6 apg is a bad thing?

To be honest I only see Lebron/Kobe getting MVP if they average there type of #'s and make it into the playoffs or maybe if someone has a super season like JO or Dirk.

I don't see:

Nash getting it. He won't get it without a powerhouse like Amare or win games like last year.

Shaq getting it. I don't have to explain.

Kevin Garnett getting it. Unless if KG averages monster numbers and has a great record he won't win an MVP
