View Full Version : Predict Spurs Schedule the Rest of the Way
24 games left. I think it's quite possible they only win four more games. I'm going to be an optimist and predict 5-19.

Why are you inflicting MORE pain?????
But ok, I’ll bite. I’m gonna remain even more optimistic than you and say 10-14. Yes, this team plays atrociously and yes, I think Pop’s overuse of the old guys is really hindering, but I also can’t see a Pop coached team completely flopping. I know they’re a complete mess and the last 3 games are indicative of them barely winning another game, but I’m not gonna say the sky has completely fallen. It’s a few inches from the ground though...

A couple days ago I thought we'd win 7 more but officially guessed 9 because I figure a couple teams will rest players late in the season. I think I'll officially drop my win total guess to 8....So 8 and 16 is my guess..

My gambling buddy took the over on 28.5 wins from Vegas at the beginning of the year and was sure it’s a winner and it looked like it too for a good while.
Not sure no more.

They’ll def win more than 4 more games. Lonnie’s return will be a shot in the arm for them and teams will rest guys towards the end of the season for the playoffs. I predict they’ll go 10-14.

After the last few loses to sub-.500 teams at home (without their best players even), 1-23 :(. This team is on a stealth tanking. I hope they get an athletic Center in the draft who can shoot
Spurs vs Nuggets 4/7 (away) - loss
Spurs vs Nuggets 4/9 (away) - loss
Spurs vs Mavericks 4/11 (away) - loss
Spurs vs Magic 4/12 (away) - 2nd night of b2b - loss
Spurs vs Raptors 4/14 (away) - loss
Trailblazers vs Spurs 4/16 (home) - loss
Spurs vs Suns 4/17 (away) - 2nd night of b2b - loss
Spurs vs Pacers 4/19 (away) - loss
Heat vs Spurs 4/21 (home) - loss
Pistons vs Spurs 4/22 (home) - 2nd night of b2b - loss
Spurs vs Pelicans 4/24 (away) - loss
Spurs vs Wizards 4/26 (away - win
Spurs vs Heat 4/28 (away) - loss
Spurs vs Celtics 4/30 (away) - loss
Sixers vs Spurs 5/2 (home) - loss
Spurs vs Jazz 5/3 (away) 2nd night of b2b - loss
Spurs vs Jazz 5/5 (away) - loss

Spurs vs Knicks 5/13 (away) - 2nd night of b2b - loss
Suns vs Spurs 5/15 (away ) loss

I mean this team when healthy and with the correct use of personnel, is capable of beating any team. But last year we got Vassell (and Tre is really a bonus at 41st), so are they on a stealth tank?

I only counted 21 games in the schedule. Never mind. On my phone it shows 21 left, that's weird.

I'll preface this by stating I'm someone who posted the Spurs going 8-1 on their 9gm homestand, so take this with a tanker of salt.
I only see three games where the Spurs should win, IE if the opponent plays down to their record, they should roll over for the Spurs.
@Orlando 4/12
@Toronto 4/14
Detroit 4/22
There's a potential for the season to suffer the same collapse as the 2005 Lakers, who were 32-29 on 12 March, and finished 2-19 (Bryant played in all 21 of those games).
I think our version of Bryant, DeRozan, can propel a similar finish. I'll go with 3-21.
Spurs can beat the Magic and Pistons. They can be competitive with the Raptors and the Wizards and even the Pacers. I would not put money on the rest of these games and once the Spurs are out of the playoffs, they could still lose the games at the end of the season that may not mean anything for the Bucks, Nets and Trailblazers.
Again, the goal is a lottery pick and improvement of the youth movement. So I am hoping for competitive, hard fought, but clear cut losses. I don't doubt that along the way the Spurs will have a random win against a good team, but it's going to be a lot of losses. The question is will the Spurs buyout Rudy and give him a chance to compete for a title. I doubt they let Mills go. And they won't buyout DDR because they will either try and re-sign him for two years or do a sign and trade and get something for him.

We could easily tank pretty easy if Murray foot keeps him out and if Dieng shoulder keeps giving him problems and if Keldon wrist gets hit again

Maybe LMA could see the writing on the wall with this squad eventually falling back into the lottery and decided it was better to get bought out. Could be why he left $$$ on the table.

It’s possible “tanking” was discussed with Aldridge and that Spurs are not offering him a new contract. Which scares me with Rudy and Patty. I’m okay with Patty if he would take a less role after this year, but Rudy has to go, to give more minutes to Luka and Vassell. If Spurs are tanking, why haven’t they bought out Rudy and have him get his chance with a contender? Demar, they could sign and trade, or hide him with better defenders around him.

I dunno this might be like last year regular season vs the bubble.
Perhaps dipstick will lose access to his pets (injuries) and thus against his wishes the best lineups will be played.
Naw we couldn't get that lucky 2 years in a row.
We can hope.

I've always said the only consistent thing about the spurs is their inconsistency. They lose some games shouldn't & then win some games they shouldn't. This Jeckyl and Hyde crap is driving me nuts. I know it's the NBA, on any given night anything can happen and with the spurs it usually does. With that in mind :
1. 6 games that they will probably win, hey the spurs are bad but they are not Minnesota bad.
2. 6 games that may be winable , but will lose at least half because of pop's insanely bad rotations or injuries or we will win because of the other teams injuries or missing players. We make even get a lucky call from the ref's. One per season is about average. I can already hear the announcers repeating "Oh mama".
3. 6 games that they will definitely lose due to the fact that the other team is just plays better and has more talent. Also see first part of #2 above.
4. 6 games that they will get blown away by 15 or more points. Get ready to kick something that evening. You may also want to cover your kid's ears if it really gets out of hand.
Record 9 -15 . Hello lottery or at absolute best 10th place.

really tough stretch here this week. with the way the wizards are playing, they could lose the next six in a row.

12 games with 4 back-to-backs coming up.
6 games against top5-teams
+ Bucks
+ Miami, Boston, New York & Portland figthing for the 6th seed.
It's getting rough!
spurs have at least been playing better since this thread was posted but just as i was starting to get more hopeful, white goes down, making what will surely be the toughest part of the schedule that much more formidable.
