Sure.

A 2019 report (https://www.credit-suisse.com/media/assets/corporate/docs/about-us/research/publications/global-wealth-databook-2019.pdf) put it as high as 5.6 percent:

Credit Suisse's "Global Wealth in 2019" measured the number of adult millionaires in the world. According to the report, the US has 18.6 million millionaires, highest in the world.

I was just providing a conservative estimate due to the pandemic, etc.

Like I said, looks like OP made some bad decisions in life, tbh...

Politicians run for office to get (more) wealthy from the bribes from the BigDonor class.

I remember a story 15? years ago about a Rep entering the House -$700K from election expenses and then a few years later having net worth of $8M

All Congress people know their personal wealth depends on voting as bribed by the BigDonor class, bribed to vote and then rewarded after voting correctly

Manchin is prime example, heavily bribed by BigFinance and BigCorp, to fight against $15/hour and against raising taxes on the wealthy. Manchin is the perfect corrupt Dem.

Insider trading by Congress was legal until a few years ago.
