it's hardly possible to make peace with an enemy without doing deals with them. the US needs to show Iran its good faith after completely reneging on the JPCOA.

Swapping and dealing prisoners abroad bad now. Read the whole article Ducks. This was Trump’s go to Foreign Policy triumphs. This is literally the most important stuff to him because Trump go to make deals.

Also present was Michael White, a U.S. Navy veteran arrested in July 2018 while visiting a woman in the Iranian city of Mashhad. He was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment on charges of espionage before he was freed in June (https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/04/world/middleeast/Iran-prisoner-michael-white.html) as part of a prisoner exchange with Tehran. On Monday, Mr. White told Mr. Trump that he had been the victim of a “major trap” and said the president was “able to get me out of that prison in record time. It was amazing.”
