Duncan & LeRoux podcast mentioned the fit he would be next to the young guys. Being one of the best off ball movers in the NBA & attracting so much attention because of his quick release, I think he would fit well next to White, Johnson & Murray & help open the lanes for them. Do you think he would be a good fit & if so, how much per would you be willing to be pay?

Absolute spur material- Duncan AND Robinson in one name.

Absolutely. If you can't get a player who can create a 3 off the dribble, Spurs must target one that will get 3's off movement.

Maybe we can get Ginobili Parker too.

I'd imagine the price would be high. 20mil per?

Our defense isn’t good enough to hide him the way Miami can.

He's staying in Miami I guess

27, is an RFA.

Miami can probably use bird to retain both he and oladipo while turning down options on dragic and iguodala

will not be worth the price tag it will take to pry him from the heat.

I watched him in college and was drawn to the name, obviously, but soon realized from watching him that he had that moxie that you need to make it to the next level. Glad he's carving out a nice career in the NBA. I'd love to see him as a Spur.

$15M is Bertans money.

$15M is Bertans money.

Statistically, at least, they're in the same ballpark:

Duncan Robinson - 27 years old
6'7" - 32MPG, 13.0 PTS, 3.5 REB, 1.7 ASST, 43.8% FG%, 40.5% 3PFG%

Davis Bertans - 28 years old
6'10" - 25MPG, 11.2 PTS, 3.0 REB, 0.9 ASST, 40.3% FG%, 39.8% 3PFG%

$15MM doesn't seem to be as huge of an NBA salary as it used to be.

Nah, that dude is probably bitch-made and sits out games when his pussy is sore. I'd rather take Bowen Elliott.

I'd imagine he'd be getting at least Bertans money, given how good he is at using screens & creating gravity without the ball. Would be expensive, but he seems like a good fit with with the young guys

I actually think he's better defensively than DeRozan. And we already have a top 10 defense with DD, Gay, Mills & Lonnie playing heavy minutes.

Would rather draft Kispert

He's a candidate, but as mentioned, they could potentially draft Kispert or sign Markkanen or McDermott.

He's easily the best shooter of the bunch, but he's also 27, one dimensional, doesn't fill a positional need and might cost at or approaching $20M annually to dissuade the Heat from matching.

I like DR and I like his potential fit....it's the price that's a stumbling block for me.

Agreed, but he has defenses shit scared of him navigating screens, to the point they're almost doubling him off the ball because of how quick his release is & it would seem like a really good fit with the young guys. I think cap space is somewhat overrated, as we are almost never in the hunt for free agents who's market value is beyond the full MLE.

I know and I agree that cap space is overrated (especially in a non glamour market; it's only valuable insofar as you have a clear path to creating a requisite amount if deemed necessary), but if, for example, either him or Markkanen could be had for a similar price, the latter makes more sense and I'm not in favor of pursuing him either.
