i dont even know what to expect or realistically hope for from this team. they couldnt be more lukewarm, which is so frustrating to watch. hopefully the young talent actually develops for once, havent really seen that from the raiders in who knows how long

Or they could just dominate the NFL by throwing to Darren Waller all game. He's literally unstoppable, like Lebron James against point guards.

they're counting on internal improvement way too much.
on offense:
Replacing Agholor with John Brown was a good move. Mostly a lateral move, but if Brown is healthy, he's better than Agholor. Otherwise they're banking on Ruggs/Edwards emerging.
They're hoping Incognito bounces back to 2019 form despite being old and coming off injury.
They're hoping former UDFA Andre James has become a viable option to replace Rodney Hudson
They're hoping John Simpson emerges as a starter to fill Gabe Jackson's shoes
They're hoping Alex Leatherwoood can step in day 1 and start at RT (to be fair, Trent Brown barely played, so he's not replacing much)
on defense
they actually did make some tangible changes... signing Ngakoue was huge, drafting Moehrig at FS was huge. Casey Hayward should at least stabilize the CB group a bit. But they signed like 5 DTs hoping that 1-2 of them pan out as good. They kept the same linebackers from last year, hoping that Littleton bounces back from last year's disaster. And they're hoping that Bradley's scheme helps Abram by giving him less responsibility.
i'm expecting 8-9 or 9-8
if rodgers joins the broncos, drop that by at least 1 win

Seems like a fantasy wasteland. Maybe take a shot on Drake late. Still think Ruggs is interesting.

wasteland indeed
get waller, and get out.
yeah, i guess drake could be a very late value pick. other than that the kicker should be good again.
i dont have faith in Ruggs to be a viable fantasy play, even if he improves on the field. i think his best case scenario is that old desean jackson stat line where week to week he's extremely volatile, and depending on hitting the home run. i dont see him being a good floor guy at all

I've kind of resigned myself to not getting Waller. I'm guessing he's late 2nd/early 3rd at the lowest.
Won't they put Ruggs in the slot almost full time?

No, he's on the outside for good tbh.
slot is going to be a combination of Renfrow and Snead. neither will be fantasy viable.

That’s fucked imo. I’d be trying to get the ball to Ruggs as much as possible.

They're going to go 6-11 at very best now, maybe less than that. They were likely going to win 10+ and place second in the division, make the playoffs. Now expect them to have a fire sale, either by the trade deadline or at minimum by next March.
Rich Bisaccia is the interim coach for the remainder of 2021. :lmao that clown is one of the worst coaches in football, but no surprise because the Raiders also employ Rod Marinelli and a bunch of ex-Cowboys castoff defensive players who were responsible for one of the league's perennially worst defenses in Dallas up until this year.

Raiders: Currently 3-2
Rest of season:
@ Broncos L
vs Eagles L
@ Giants W
vs Chiefs L
vs Bengals L
@ Cowboys L
vs Washington W
@ Chiefs L
@ Browns L
vs Broncos W
@ Colts L
vs Chargers L
6-11
what a waste of a promising start to a season
back to annual 5 win seasons for the next decade :depressed
well ive been pretty wrong so far :lol
glad the players are responding so well. and the coaching has actually been quite good so far. playcalling is much improved, carr has looked much more comfortable. maybe gruden was holding the team back a bit
spurraider21

the play-calling has improved. olson has been calling a lot more screens and a lot more play-action, which protects the OL in pass protection. the OL has been the weak link of the offense, so the more we can mask that, the better. and Carr has been playing the best ball of his career
bradley already had autonomy on defense, so that's been the same.

JJ Watt out for year.
Not surprising.
Tough guy but with his history of injuries i felt it was not if but when this season.
Hope the next guy up for the Cardinals is good.

Henry Ruggs in a fatality car crash. Some rumors that he was under the influence.
Shit...he might be the fatality if the pic I saw was from that crash.

also fucks the team
spurraider21

from his wiki bio
Ruggs credits his late friend Roderic Scott with encouraging him to play football in high school. Scott died in a car accident at 17 years of age, and Ruggs honors him with a three-fingered salute after every touchdown because Scott wore number 3 on the basketball court.

Jon Gruden definitely drafted the fastest guy in the draft with Ruggs, tbh.
