Since fathead left the team?

It’s crazy to me that a few years ago PATFO and fans thought they needed to get rid of players because they were practically dead weight but Slowmo having the time of life out there.

And Brynn Forbes is awesome

Firstly, very few here knew Anderson would be a good player. But Spurs needed shooters and Spurs chose to keep bertans instead. Then we traded bertans to not get Morris. Ironically, Anderson was our Morris that we need.

And FFS, Forbes is on a good team doing one specialist role. For the Spurs he had to do more and defend more because we didn't have the talent.

Stop this bullshit. He already was a good player and it was obvious he was on a good trajectory. Just because this board is populated by morons doesn't mean some of us knew letting him go was a bad idea.

They kept the wrong forward they same way they should've keep CoJo over Mills. (If they were truly forced to keep one, that is)

Slowmo had a lot of hate. Not as much as Forbes and Mills, but a lot.

I actually liked Slowmo during the '17-'18 season. His defense was pretty good and underrated. It sucked to see him go but I always felt his inability to be assertive held him back. It seems like he's now overcame that. I'm happy for his success. Sometimes it takes a change of scenery to get better.

well when u have a wanker of a coach barking in your face every mistake doesnt help with anything but stunting the growth of the player to be aggressive

If Anderson was on this team still. Our spacing would be absolutely horrible. More horrible than it is now. Dejounte, Demar, and Kyle with Jakob? Good lord.

Slo-Mo. Bertans. Forbes. The list gets longer and longer.

So we're going to just ignore the fact that it took Anderson 7 years to finally breakout? including 2 of those years in Memphis and he breaksout right when he's a free agent.

Forbes isn't a surpise, we just needed other guys to play more (lonnie)

I'd love for this medicore spurs team to be playing lots of role players to lead us to the lottery every season

Anderson has played great in Memphis no doubt. But let's not act like he's raising this teams ceiling as constructed. Spurs need star power above all else. We have a team full of role players and no real top end talent

Letting Slomo go is the least of our worries, he's not some incredible game changer. We don't have the main ingredients and we talk about pepper and salt

We have six current first rounders, one on the way, and Tre Jones, all in the pipeline. Anticipating all of the complaining when some of them are sent on their way.

You can’t keep them all, and it’s a testament to PATFO that so many go on to long careers after they leave, especially since pre 2018, they were all picked at the end of the first round.

If Anderson, Bertans and Forbes were on the current roster most folks in here would be complaining about how much they suck.

The only Spur ever free of criticism in this place was TD. Folks you are like “I told you so” every time a former Spur plays well for another team needs to STFU. These are the same folks who complain the loudest about the players we have.

Anderson’s trajectory took a huge leap this year and was aided by shoulder surgery. SAgirl gets a pass on SloMo, and maybe a couple others. But other than that I’d say he beat the odds to get to where he is currently.

Slo-Mo. Bertans. Forbes. The list gets longer and longer.

Well, not Bertans. And there wasn't much room for Forbes.

The problem with letting Anderson go -- other than his good defense, his length, his rebounding and playmaking abilities -- is he's at the position the Spurs have struggled filling in the Popovich era, the small forward.

Yes, for all the complaining about lacking a 6'8"+ guy who can guard 1-4, we had him, and let him go.

It is just a testimoney to how totally inept this FO is and how far a HOF (to be) coach has fallen. Nothing to see here except Spurs with this horrible combination going nowhere.

Even TD faced criticism at times, particularly from like 2008-2011. "Oh, his legs are shot. He has plantar fascitis. He can't shoot anymore. He should just hang them up and let the Spurs tank".

Obviously, he shut all of them up from 2012-2014 (hell, he even played great against the Clips in 2015). But it still goes to show that if people couldn't fully appreciate HOFers like Timmy, Tony, and Manu...it's gonna be a hard sell for guys like Murray, White, Walker, KJ, etc.

Granted, half of them are probably trolls who have nothing better to do but pick fights on the internet to pump up their own egos.

he looked more like the spurs version of KA last night. he even had that old fist swipe he'd do after missing a shot. and there was a critical three he missed (wide open look from the corner) in which he hesitated. that being said, the jazz are starting to assert themselves as clearly the better team in this series so it's not as if this loss is on KA in any way.

The way he played, you’d think he was still with the Spurs. 4 points, on poor shooting, and 2 rebounds, in 24 minutes.

I never understood the fascination with him. He has tools and smarts, but at the end of the day you have to be assertive. An assertive Lonnie Walker is usually awesome. Same with Kyle, but the trouble is that isn't in their nature. Kyle never really got that character trait, maybe Lonnie will. I'd rather have a player shoot 0 for 10 and still shoot the open 3 than a player who hesitates/refuses to shoot when open any time of the week. It's why I liked Manu. He shot like 3/20 against Golden St in 2013 and still had the balls to hit the game winner

You know I didn’t use to. There was a difference in styles and winning once but now it’s just become a glorified 3 point shooting contest. Everyone scores like 115 a game and shoots 40 threes a game and that’s how you win now. But Anderson doesn’t do one thing great I would say that makes up for his short comings for shooting. He’s not like Ben Simmons who does everything amazing except shoot.

He'd be a good piece on a great team. He just doesn't have enough game to be a key player for any squad.
