I thought even you would admit Andruw Jones had the better year.

Pujols had a higher BA

He carried a injured cardinals team to a 100 win season.

Andruw Jones had great power numbers - period. And he only lead Pujols by 10 HRs, and 11 RBI.

Albert lead Jones in runs (+34), hits (+41), doubles (+14), SB (+11), BB (+33), K (-47), BA (+.067), SLG (+.034), TB (+23), and OPS (.117).

The Cardinals had a better WL record (100-62) than Atlanta (90-72).

And the lineup production around them was comparable. The closest guy to Pujols was Edmonds (29/89/.263) and then no player batted in more than 61.

Jones was surrounded by Chipper (21/72/.296) and LaRoche (20/78/.259).

So, they both carried their teams offensively.

Defensively, Pujols had a .992 and Jones had a .995.

Tell me where Jones was robbed again? Because of his 10 HRs and 11 RBI?

Well deserved indeed. If you need justification, I suggest the MOON SHOT in Game 5 at the Juice Box.

didn't know Jones hit a measely .207 with men in scoring position. that alone sways me to Pujols. Just that Andruw might the best defensive player in all of baseball. i stand corrected.

Good point. That's one more Albert lead in, and quite convincingly. .337 to .207.

Better than Jim Edmonds??

I would say Jones and Edmonds are tied.
