I'm looking to start up a modern rock cover band to play in local bars and clubs for money, songs along the lines of green day, foo fighters, lit, everclear, etc...i play guitar, so i'd be interested in a singer, bass player, and drummer, preferably with your own equipment. If anyone is interested, let me know by PM or in this thread.

I don't sing or play an instrument, but I have my own equipment. Can I join?

I'll only join if you become a Creed cover band. That's gonna be in in 2006.

Some good bands started out by being cover bands when they were young.

I have a wicked growl, if you wanted to do some stuff on the heavier side, but I'm very demanding, and would have to practice, hang out, and have after parties away from other band members

Brad Pitt also started off his acting career by being a chicken at El Pollo Loco. Just saying......

You know, if you practice reeeeeally hard, you can tour the world with your cover band selling out concert halls and gadding about dressed like this:

haha, yes! i was in an original music band for 6 years, but i left it 2 years ago...i miss playing, and covers are pretty fun to play...not to mention the fact they pay you on average $500 a night! i need some extra money :)

Hey pseudo, log in under your own screen name.

Hey I am down with jammin, I play bass and electric. My buddy has all the equipment, bass, guitars, drums, mics, pa, everything. Pick 5 songs and lets get together.

Let me know.

Heh, yeah I sang in an original-music band in the early-mid nineties. Not sure how the local scene is now, but back then a decent cover band was making WAY more than the BEST original bands. Writing and playing your own music is very satisfying (and there's always that one in ten million shot you might get signed...not that being signed really means anything), but if you want to gig regularly and make decent money...cover bands are the way to go.

Man, if I still had my P.A. I'd look you up.

Sold out to what? To cover music? Last time I checked Union Underground is dead.

I think it would be kind've cool to jam a little. I just restrung by guitar the other day. My friend and I jammed for a few minutes last week, it was all good.

Nothing wrong with a little Metallica, Dokken, Scorpions and some blues.

I can't hit those high ones anymore. I used to be a soprano when I was young. But my voice has changed a lot. Friends who have known me a long time can tell the difference.

Now my voice is way less high and more soulful with a slight rock edge. New but I'm liking it. =)

That Kelly song was waaaaaaaaaay out of my range.

She probably won't appreciate me volunteering her, but Spurs Woman and I would make a pretty killer french horn section. Again.

:lol

(You'd need a french horn section if you wanted to cover some Rolling Stones songs or the greatest song ever with a french horn part: Lady Starlight by the Scorpions)
