Lakers F Medvedenko has herniated disk, out six weeks

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Los Angeles Lakers forward Slava Medvedenko has been diagnosed with a herniated disk and will miss approximately six weeks, the team announced Wednesday.
The 6-10 Medvedenko injured his back in a game at Minnesota on November 9. He was examined by Lakers team physician Dr. Steve Lombardo and back specialist Dr. William Dillin of the Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Group.
A member of the Lakers' championship teams in 2001 and 2002, Medvedenko had just two points and one rebound in two games this season.

In his sixth season, the native of the Ukraine has averaged 5.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 249 games, all with the Lakers.
