Told ya. The plan is going into full execution mode.

Garnett pisses management off, forces a trade.

Minnesotians long for their Rasho to come back. Rasho and the man purse boy exit stage left along with the Vagisil's Spokesperson Michael Finley and the rights to Scola.....

Garnett becomes a Spur.

Homers buy his jersey.

Spurs win the next 5 championships.

Ah.... Life is good.

Put together a one-on-one game for the #21. Sell tickets and donate the money to charity. :)

trade rasho+nazr+bench+first round picks for 2 consecutive years+scolas rights+javko rights

holt is goin to be tite on this, cose this will push the team over cap, but we can always sign verterans or scrub players to fill the bench. trading our bench for garnett they be settled for a 1 year, at least they competing

Ok, the real point of this topic is Garnett wants out and I don't want him to become a Laker.

I don't think he makes that much anymore. He took a paycut last season, right? Doesn't he make around 17-18M?

Kori Ellis

Yes, I looked it up .. he makes $18M this season.

He made $28M for 2003-04. But last year his new extension started out at $16M.

Hes making 28 million

Actually, I heard the other night that Garnett is making around 16 mill this year (or as Kori said, 18 mill this year and 16 mill last year).
Just for fun, this one works:

San Antonio Trades:
Luis Scola 6-9 from Buenos Aires (Argentina)
Brent Barry 6-7 SG from Oregon State
7.4 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 2.2 apg in 21.5 minutes
Nazr Mohammed 6-10 C from Kentucky
10.9 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 0.5 apg in 28.1 minutes
Radoslav Nesterovic
7-0 C from Slovenia (Foreign) 5.9 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.0 apg in 25.5 minutes

Incoming
Kevin Garnett
6-11 PF from Farragut Academy (HS)
22.2 ppg, 13.5 rpg, 5.7 apg in 38.0 minutes

Successful Scenario
Due to San Antonio and Minnesota being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. San Antonio and Minnesota had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

So, they take Rasho, Nazr, Brent, and Scola - and Manu and Parker stay, eh?

Hopefully, KOBE gets involved in that trade scenario! I hate Kobe more than I hate his team as a whole.

KG to join the Spurs? Quite a nice joke because it would be a Dream-Team-like Twin Tower ever to exist in the world.

Let's add more fantasy : the NBA implements another "amnesty clause" and KG, frustrated by what happened in the T-wolves, demands to be released, and joined the Spurs in the quest for an championship for less money like Finley and NVE. Then there is no worry of being above the salary cap!

I think the best chance of KG going to the Lakers through free agency. So they wouldn't be giving up Kobe to get him.

Oh, Gee!!

If you're right, I'd be happy.

Garnett goes nowhere without an all-star caliber player coming Minny's way, and quite possibly 2 very good players would be needed (as the Tmac trade shows). Instead of that, they might do 1 allstar with a servicable bigman and at least one lottery prospect.

Even so, they would go to the cellar most likely with either option.

So, unless the Spurs give up Manu and Parker, or either one with Rasho/Oberto/Nazr and a pick, they can do better.

I don't think Garnett comes up in free agency for a while.

The Lakers don't have enough talent outside of Kobe to get Garnett, period. It would take 3 players of Odom's talent to get him, since he is 3rd tier at this point.
