Been hearing in circles and talks about ohtani so I decided to check him out. A dominant pitcher that can lead home run race is always going to appeal to non fans.
But the MLB in general is so anti-casual that I know they won’t take advantage of this. NL still has no DH, Lame intentional walks ( closed the tv soon as ohtani was walked), even though they have some exciting younger sluggers in Acuna,Vlad, Tatis and obviously the most popular ohtani..
Baseball is dying. They have an opportunity here with Shohei. They haven’t had an exciting name in a long time that appeal to casuals..but they’ll butcher it for sure.
