View Full Version : Barkley's Mystery Envelope

Last night after the Spurs/Rockets game on TNT, Charles Barkley stated that he believed a coach from the Eastern Conference was going to be the first one fired this season.... and that the firing would happen very soon. He wrote down the name of the coach and sealed it in an envelope. Apparently the envelope will be opened once someone is fired... for all to see if he was right.

So what coach's name do you think Barkley wrote down???

Sometimes I think it could be Larry Brown but then again it's still the damn knicks mgmt and they might not..

As much as a great coach Brown is I hated it when he was interviewing with cavs when his team was in frickin finals..

Stan Van Gundy is not out of the woods yet, if Miami does not gell as Shaq returns - out the door he goes and "King Riley" walks in to try to clean up his OWN mess of a bunch of players, he brought in who may "not play well together".

Stan Van Gundy could be next after him if he doesn't pull away with more wins than losses...

he may have wrote down Mitchell, but I don't believe he would be the first one fired. my chips are on Weiss to be the first one fired this season, and yes, I know he's in the West.

The Raptors need to fire their coach, their general manager, their entire roster, their owner, their color scheme, their name, and their city.

Move them to St. Louis or Las Vegas or something.

Maloofs I don't think would fire Adelman mid-year.

You have to have half a brain if you think Larry Brown is going to get fired.

Weiss will probably be given the entire year.

First one to go besides Sam Mitchell. I'm going out on a limb and saying Doc Rivers.

After all the ballyhoo, Isaiah COULDN'T fire Brown this early.

Atlanta coach is a no-brainer guess. Looking at their record and the shifting lineups it's apparent the team has no overarching plan to get out of the hole.

Stan van Gundy is a longshot for those who want to say I told ya so. Riley wants to coach this team he built--but probably not until Shaq returns. Why take the Heat when the star is out? (pun intended)

Yeah...but I think the Toronto Raptors' management is just too stupid to do that. After all, they have picked up some shitty draft picks over the last couple of seasons (Charlie Villanueva, anyone?), not to mention making a trade that pretty much ripped them off (Vince Carter, anyone?). So I think the management in Tornoto is too stupid to fire Sam Mitchell. I think they're gonna wait until December 2nd to fire him, since that's when they face the only other winless team in the league.

Mike Woodson will be the first one fired, if the Hawks remain winless after December 2nd.

And speaking of Charles Barkley, anyone have that picture of him on the exercise bike on the net or on their computers?

Possibly Lawrence Frank, down at New Jersey... they are playing pretty sub-par, arent they? 4-4 is pretty bad... and with Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson on your team, your bound to lose games! Almost makes you feel sorry for Jason Kidd... almost.

Has TNT had any games since Van Gundy "Quit"??? Just wondering if the envelope has been opened, thinking tonight will be the first game since that happened. Don't know if they will consider him being fired.

Was Van Gundy fired?

He stepped down but is that the say as being fired in terms of what Barkley wrote down?
