Heat sign G Fitch, waive F Walsh

MIAMI (TICKER) -- The Miami Heat signed former Kentucky guard Gerald Fitch on Friday.
Fitch spent training camp and the preseason with the Heat before being waived on October 31. He did not play in any preseason games due to a lower back injury.
The 6-3, 188-pounder averaged 13.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in five games for the Washington Wizards in the Vegas Summer League before signing with the Heat.

After spending the 2004-05 preseason with the Wizards, Fitch played for three teams in Europe. He averaged 21 points in 19 games in the Ukraine Superleague.
Fitch played four years at Kentucky and scored 1,391 points.
To make room for Fitch, Miami released rookie swingman Matt Walsh. The Florida product scored two points in two games.
