Most of the states are using funds from their own budgets to send people to the border. But Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota has said that the 50 National Guard troops going to the border from her state would be financed by a private donor (https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/30/us/politics/noem-south-dakota-troops-donation.html). Multiple reports claim that the donor is Willis Johnson, a billionaire and frequent donor to conservative causes from Tennessee.

The National Guard is the perfect entity to send in to... "ask questions?" sure thing.
I guess the donation of land and the wall funding are also doing well for governor Greg ("I had a tree fall on my ass during a storm so I sued the homeowner") Abbott
Meanwhile the power grid is... did we call for help and funding for that from other states, or just the United States?
