Best movie about or filmed in San Antonio?

I was thinking about Viva Max the other day, one of my favorites as a kid.

The McQueen Getaway is also a good one.

EDIT: Just remembered that Ron Howard didn't actually direct the 2004 Alamo, although he was originally slated to.

ZStomp: good list, but most of those are crap. Some, like Johnny Be Good and Pee Wee's Big Adventure, only a scene or two filmed in SA.

I should have put Miss Congenitalty on the poll. Maybe the Spy Kids flicks, although I bet they were filmed closer to Austin than SA.

Miss Congeniality...not the best movie but I thought it was funny and it shows a lot of San Antonio.

Actually, most of Johnny Be Goode was filmed here...I was almost in the movie! My buddy and I just missed being extras in the football scenes. Miss Congeniality was filmed in Austin and SA.

Wings won Best Picture in 1927.

I actually worked on "Selena" in the film crew. Great experience, but I thought it could have been way better. They rushed it. But great experience though. One of the best times I ever had.

"Cloak and Dagger" by the way.

Little ASF loves Spy Kids 2 and is completely baffled by the fact that the big red library downtown is the Spy Kids HQ in the movie.

There's a movie with Brendan Fraser that was filmed half in San Antonio... beautiful shots. I can't remember the name, but it's a fun romantic film.

Edit: Still Breathing. That's the name.

How about the only movie filmed in S.A. that won an academy award for best picture? And, not just any best picture award, but the "first" one awarded. That was "Wings" which was released in 1927. It was also the only silent film to win an academy award. So since i'm being trivial, here's some more:

* Richard Arlen, whose character is a fighter pilot, had actually been a pilot in World War I (though he never saw combat).

* In contrast to co-star Richard Arlen, 'Charles 'Buddy' Rogers did not know how to fly a plane when production began, but he learned how to do so by the end of it. In the close-up scenes where Jack and David (and other characters) are flying, the actors are actually working the planes themselves. To shoot these scenes, the actors had to get the plane up in the air, keep it up, turn on the (motorized) camera and land the plane--and act at the same time.

* According to biographer David Stenn, 'Clara Bow' did not like her military uniform, as it did not show off her figure. She kept fighting with the costumers to let her wear a tight belt and show off her curves.

* With the thousands of extras battling on the ground, dozens of airplanes flying around in the sky and hundreds of explosions going off everywhere, the only injury on the entire picture was incurred by veteran stunt pilot Dick Grace. A plane he was crashing was supposed to completely turn over, but it only turned partly over. Instead of being thrown clear of the plane as was the plan, Grace was hurled against part of the fuselage and broke his neck. He returned to the company after six weeks in the hospital.

Well, one of my favorites that was filmed in the area was "The Great Waldo Pepper", filmed in Floresville and Seguin (and maybe some in Kerrville, too, if I remember right). I had a friend who was an extra in that movie. It was a really good story. And I enjoyed the scenery in the movie because I was familiar with some of it.
