One thing is that after Big, Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere I’m burned out on dark, moody, manipulative teenagers and the 2 on this show are almost unbearable. I’ll catch up with it tonight and hopefully something will hook me and keep me interested.

I finished it up, it was ok, the best part was definitely the brevity! There was no character or storyline that will keep me looking forward to a second season. I don’t think they are doing a season 2. I saw it called a mini series. I’m actually a fan of the shorter season long mini series that a lot of companies are putting out now. Wrapping up a whole story line in 6-10 episodes is nice. Most shows end up sucking by the time they get to season 3 anyway, even the good ones generally.

I thought she was the most interesting character. All the white female characters were the stereotypical shallow, rich women who think they are everything but just shallow and rich, and put up a big show about how they are NOT just shallow and rich. In the end, after they’d all had the opportunities to actually take action and become something different, they chose the comfort of their privilege. Rachel didn’t come from money but she was so insecure that she also chose that comfort, and accepted that it would be easier to just become her mother in law than fight it anymore. I did like the foreshadowing in the first episode about who the dead body on the plane is, made us think it was going to be Rachel and in the end she WAS the most dead person on the plane.

He made it out of the fight without having his mask and cap pulled down.
Made it thru the lobby unscathed and all the way out to the sand. Once on the sand he started jogging which i thought was a mistake, but it's not like he was sprinting. Then the final beach scene of Kai he does speed up from a jog to a sprint and then the scene quickly fades out.

Conclusion is he could have well gotten out without being busted.

I think LBs post captures what the writers may have had in mind.

Belinda wanted a career that she loved. That outweighed money imo.
Thus the envelope, while yes you'd think she might be stoked lets say it was 20K. Quite generous by Stifflers Mom but Belinda knew it was a stopgap. A very nice gift but in her current status she perhaps viewed it as merely a stopgap vs a permanent solution.

Regarding Kai... The whole subplot there requires a decent suspension of disbelief.

Hotels like White Lotus would usually have cameras covering all of the hallways. If not, then they will at least have them watching elevator/stair access on each floors.

Housekeepers don't leave their master keycards in their cleaning cart, ever.

And he had already used that Maid's card once to get into an vacant/ready room and messed it up with Paula.

There's no way that went unnoticed by the cleaning crew, nor would that maid have failed to inform the management of her lost key card.

Source: 5 years of experience working in Hotel Management.

I'm totally fine with overlooking this because, for me, it didn't take anything otherwise awesome writing and equally impressive acting performances.

Regarding Belinda...

She was crying because Stifler's mom egged her on and promised to help her realize her dream... only to then pull the rug out from under her feet. That envelope full of money is not enough for her to get started on her own business.

Regarding Season 2...

It looks like we'll have almost entire new cast and while it will feature the White Lotus hotel, it will be situated in a different location.

She's pretty good in it.
After her 2nd job the car heist gone wrong, just way too much suspension of belief when she dropped off the car. They show virtually zero sympathy or concern for her, plus she only wants a paltry 2 grand instead of saying F THIS, I want at LEAST 10K for the shit you put me thru. Ok ok she just wanted out. But the bullshit *sweet talk* that Yousef gave her and thus Emily falling for it was just way too soon. Dk what was supposed to be so compelling about Yousef that she fell for him. Mrs also found Yousef to be just meh.

But, the story keeps rolling and to his credit he shows her how to do it herself. In the long run he did teach her how to fish vs giving her a fish so i guess he launched her.

Thankfully she got her money back from the low life thugs who assaulted her at her apt. Would have really sucked to have seen those two get off with stealing the money and the damn dog. Why didn't she zap the chick too? Thought that was a plot error.

When they went to rob Evil Numb Nutts Khahill and he was not being found in the shower or anywhere.....it's like duh he's in hiding ready to pounce. Finally caught up last night.

Season 2 is doing a great job with that awkward tension build up among all the relevant characters. I still say it's missing a key wild piece like the OG manager that puts it all together splendidly.

She's pretty good in it.
After her 2nd job the car heist gone wrong, just way too much suspension of belief when she dropped off the car. They show virtually zero sympathy or concern for her, plus she only wants a paltry 2 grand instead of saying F THIS, I want at LEAST 10K for the shit you put me thru. Ok ok she just wanted out. But the bullshit *sweet talk* that Yousef gave her and thus Emily falling for it was just way too soon. Dk what was supposed to be so compelling about Yousef that she fell for him. Mrs also found Yousef to be just meh.

But, the story keeps rolling and to his credit he shows her how to do it herself. In the long run he did teach her how to fish vs giving her a fish so i guess he launched her.

Thankfully she got her money back from the low life thugs who assaulted her at her apt. Would have really sucked to have seen those two get off with stealing the money and the damn dog. Why didn't she zap the chick too? Thought that was a plot error.

When they went to rob Evil Numb Nutts Khahill and he was not being found in the shower or anywhere.....it's like duh he's in hiding ready to pounce. These are all valid comments. The car keys thing was definitely noticeable.
But for just a 1.5 hour investment, I thought it paid off pretty well. I did question her violent decisions later. But they did give her enough of a backstory to thing...OK...maybe she is crazy enough.

<He (MW) mentioned in a podcast how his mom was severely emotionally and mentally fucked up when his father came out as gay and ever since he doesn’t believe in romance and being monogamous in a traditional way. He says that loyalty robs people of their power.
I feel like he is severely scared and made the show that way too. Pretty sad actually. >
