Ilgauskas was still a decent player after his foot problems as well. However, I don't think either situation is comparable to Zach's. Both of them broke the navicular bone in their foot, not a stress fracture in the ankle. Further, neither of them broke it a second time ... The foot injuries definitely hurt Ilgauskas's mobility, and I think it has had an impact on Joel as well.

That said, he has proven to be one of the rare cases where reclamation project worked. Took him some time to get healthy and get back into basketball shape, but since Poeltl left has has shown he is a solid starting center and actually fits into the "new NBA" with his ability to actually shoot a basketball

I thought this guy was better than what he has shown the last month. There are moments when he looks really good on offense, but I can see him often getting bullied around the basket. He has the length and the mobility to be a good defender, but he obviously needs to get some strength because he spent all last night getting moved around.

The truth is that he is a good to great passer for a big guy and he is capable of getting points on the block.

The truth is that the bad is that he is bodied out of position for rebounds and he has lost all confidence in his three point shot. I do think he has the touch and form to be a 30+% three point shooter, but it takes more than touch and form to hit threes at a 30+% clip... you have to be confident.
