Aggies need to work on not being embarrassed.

It must suck being second fiddle all the time.

Local Sports radio here in CS was SLAMMING the Ags and staff for their media day luncheon demeanor. The sports guy on radio here said it was literally a funeral in the event. I heard Jaxson Appel, the Ags DB talking and I think he missed a few days of his SSRI...McNeal was being slammed as well and his Legacy was, according to the local boys, started and finished with the OU game when The Ags beat them when the Sooners were #1. Sad atmosphere here in CS. My first week living here for this game and I am surprised at the attitudes.

Did you know that from 1899 to 1902, at least one game was played in San Antonio? They played each other two times a year several times in the early 1900's.

A&M is 3-6 against the spread so far this year, and that's not including the shameful game against Texas State because the books don't put out lines between 1A vs 1AA teams. I think you can safely consider that a loss ATS.

Last year aggy was 7-5 ATS .They didn't cover the 10.5 points against us.

In 2003, aggy was 1-11 ATS. They didn't cover the 22 points against us that year either.

The slamming of McNeal is predictable. Of course nobody points out that A&M has had one of the worst defenses in the country two out of his four years, and the other two they merely were mediocre. Nobody points out that the A&M program has decayed into such dire straits that McNeal has to beat teams like Baylor by himself.

He's black and it's College Station. So it's his fault. It's the same reason they lionize Bucky Richardson but forget Kevin Murray.

Take McNeal off that team, and their only wins would be over SMU and Okla. St. This will all become clear next year when I-AA teams come into Kyle Field and win, and when Baylor wins by two touchdowns in Waco, and meanwhile some NFL team is giddy with delight over the steal they got at QB.

Yeah, TAMU is DEAD LAST in defensive passing yards per game, and 10th from last in total defensive yards-per-game. Their rushing defense is about average, but I have a feeling VY will have another field day. It wouldn't surprise me if Texas covers midway through the 2nd Q.

I really feel sorry for McNeal, though. Crappy defense, crappy coaching. Had he been at UT and Vince been somewhere else, he'd bee breaking records here like Young is doing. Hopefully, he'll get just compensation in the NFL ranks as you said.

Most Aggies I know feel sorry/sick that McNeal hasn't had much to work with during his tenure. Then again, I haven't been in touch with um, 'Old Army'. Perhaps among the older crowd there is a greater willingness to resort to knee-jerk QB bashing for the team's struggles when all else fails.

"Old Army" misses the good ol' days in East Texas. There was nothing quite like a good lynching. So, they take advantage when they can.

I don't know if it's that way anymore. Perhaps 20 years ago. The elder statesmen among the alumni are now out of the classes of the '60s and '70s. That means ages 50 and up.

McNeal is the most underrated college QB in the country, moreso than Brett Basanez, DJ Shockley, and Kellen Clemens. He's VY with a little more smarts and a little less speed. I feel bad for the guy...the peak of his Aggieland career was beating OU as a frosh, and it's all been downhill from there. And yes, I know the Ags went to the Cotton Bowl last season. Was Reggie around when they played TCU in the Houston Bowl in 01 or 02?

I don't see him lasting past the third round of the draft.

ag QB reminds me of Matt Jones but he needs to be a better passer.

McGee is tough no doubt. Did you see that sack he took in the beginning of the third, he got pancaked, then the kid gets up adjusts his chinstrap and gives the "is that all you've got" motion...:lol

The head referee, Randy Crystal, is a graduate of Texas and also the ref responsible for the Tech/OU debacle.

Big suprise that penalty spread is 85-10 for Texas, the ball that should have been spotted at the 3in spot was spotted at the 18in (after replay) and that fumble was given to Texas.

While I don't subscribe to the conspiracy theories.....the Ags played a hell of a game. If McGee takes a little off of three passes...this could have been a very different outcome. For starters, I love seeing close, hard-hitting UT-A&M games. I didn't think that was going to happen today, but I was mistaken and was rewarded with a helluva treat. I wish UT and A&M would dominate the South every fucking year and this game was worth more than bragging rights in 2005, but that's a discussion for another day.

That McGee kid is going to be something special in Aggieland if he can perform at a comparable level next season as he did today. He's a tough, gritty SOB with some serious wheels. Don't get me wrong, I didn't exactly appreciate the scare, but how cool was seeing that shotgun spread option from the Ags? It was like Greg Davis found out Les Koennig was a UT alum and decided he needed a Longhorn playbook.

A&M played their hearts out despite being seriously outgunned. I hope both the guys who gave their all on the field and the fans who backed them up are proud of the job they did at Kyle Field on Friday. They deserve to be.
