oddly enough, couldnt actually find a thread on this.

never saw it live, but i did catch it on Disney+

it was quite good and mostly historically accurate, too. while miranda acted well, he was probably the worst singer from the main cast. his writing is pretty incredible, though. wife has already rewatched it 2-3 times in the last week :lol

Miranda has cast himself as the lead in both of his two major musicals and he's been the worst cast member in both. :lol

I definitely recommend In The Heights if you liked Hamilton. He was smart enough not to cast himself in the lead role for the film, and it's among the better film adaptations of a stage musical I've ever seen. (And I loved the stage version)

I’ve seen a few clips, and the godawful rapping makes it impossible for me to watch. Not in an “old man yells at cloud” type of anti-rap sentiment, more in a “this rapping is actually terrible” feeling.

Well the bar is pretty low for "Broadway Hip Hop Showtunes." :lol

But if you're the type of person who likes musicals it's vastly more interesting than the typical stuff.

the mindhunter guy as king george was also quite good

otherwise i thought the two main schuyler sisters were the best singers, and daveed diggs as lafayette/jefferson stole every scene he was in

Absolute props to Miranda and Disney for dropping this over a year early. We still would be waiting on this to show in theaters otherwise. It really lived up to the hype. Wish more musicals would document their original runs this way.

When I was like 12 it was cool I suppose. All cartoons were cool... I'm not 12 any longer and neither are any of you dudes who love musicals. :lmao
