We need to acknowledge that there's still a lot to learn. But with all the focus on vaccinations, I don't believe we can definitively say that people that have had COVID should also get vaccinated.

I've heard that people who had the first SARS virus back in 03 are still immune today. So it's logical to surmise that those infected with this virus will attain long term immunity. And if that's the case, then the vaccines become like cloth masks for the previously infected - placebo and theatrical.

Of course it would be prefereable if we all had immunity to a novel pathogen but we don't. Not sure why anyone should be surprised that natural immunity is more robust than vaccination, I haven't heard anyone argue the reverse.

The fact that pandemics unfold in real time, with real time impacts on people and institutions (businesses, governments, schools, hospitals) tends to moderate the speed at which people are willing to get to natural immunity.

But anyone who wants to chase COVID should go for it, imho.

Just quoting the article. My point being that there's very little attention given in the media and social media that it's possible (even likely) that those that have had COVID may not really need to get vaccination shots.
I still believe that all the vaccinations may turn out to be a bad thing in the long term with a large % of the vaccinated believing they are immune and can go out in public without any concerns.

I also worry that it's going to cause more mutations in the virus.

IMO, the only way to try to get ahead of it would be to shut down everything as much as possible for a month or so. But that's not going to happen.

I agree that it has been know for a while but I think there's an incredibly large % of the population that ignores that fact. Everything is being painted with a broad brush while still the large % of hospitalizations/deaths are with people that had some underlying condition and elderly. From what I've read, the chance of reinfection is very rare. But also that getting a vaccination would double the chances of not getting reinfected. But those are both below 1% to my knowledge. I guess my end point being that if a healthy person has already had COVID, I'm not sure the shot should be recommended.

In a perfect world, everyone could go see their doctor before getting vaccinated to see if they have any underlying conditions that might cause issues with the vax. I think I already posted it but I have an aunt that got vaxxed and then a few hours later had a stroke. They determined that she had a preexisting aneurysm that leaked and then burst. Had she known that, she could have made a decision to not get vaxxed and just hunker down.

my advocacy for vaccines has nothing to do with my love for the industry :lol... i think i've long said that healthcare is something that probably should be nationalized because the profit motive conflicts with the duty to treat patients imo

Are you fucking retarded? The vaccines make it a lot less likely you die or get really sick when you get infected. So greatly lowers the risk associated with finally catching the virus that first time.
