When will the Spurs make the playoffs again?

*In the event Gregg passes this would apply to "retires."

1st place will be spending a Saturday night with Derp.

Does derp use profile charts to keep track of his sock alts or just go by random memory?
While talking to himself does he have potato chips, popcorn, just what?

See how it all unfolds as derp lines up another Saturday night.

2nd place will be spending a night with the SpursTalk Moderation Team.

See just what all goes on behind the scenes with live reports from one or more of the SMT.

On a personal note, the team will share what their favorite drink is.

This coming season we will make the playoffs. Book that! This is because of improved everyone, especially Luka, Murray, Vassell, Keldon, and White (healthier).

^ I'm also hopeful there is enough talent on the roster and said talent makes it out to the floor often enough to Playoff this year.

We aren't making it this year imo. I don't know if we fully embrace the tank or not but I say we get the 10th pick so we don't make it next year. We move some pieces the year after that and we get a top 3 pick. We get "our guy" and it takes him a year to get used to the league. We make the playoffs as the 8th seed (ala Memphis) and hopefully we build around him the right way (not ala Memphis). So that puts us at 2025 at the earliest. And that's me being optimistic :lol

I said 2024 and that was probably overly optimistic.

Being able to make the playoffs from the 9th or 10th seed by just getting hot for a couple games makes it far more likely the Spurs get lucky in the near future imo. Finishing 10th shouldn't be all that difficult.

The WC is being to be top heavy they will slip in by 25 but that really does not matter only chips do.

Is the 21-22 season gonna be another Bubble play in type format?

As far as I know, the play-in will happen every season from now on.

Yeah I was looking at 2026 I am really hoping we land a top 5 draft pick in 2022 and also in 2023 - I know some posters get there panties in a twist when you mention "Tanking" but in all reality this is a shitty team that is going to have a big identity problem as far as who is the man - who takes last shot- who is our Pg - etc. I think we might win 26 games max that is if White is not missing significant time

I'd say they're about a year away from being a fringe playoff team, so I said '23. Give the young ones another year to develop.

Maybe 2032 if we get lucky in the draft. Prize for winner is irrlevant because it will depreciate to nothing, by the time spurs make the post season. Spurs could be the next kings.

That's my thinking as well. Young guys need more experience and figure out who is going to emerge as the leaders now that DeRozan, Gay, Mills, etc are gone. Pick up another piece or two in the draft and free agency, and hopefully we'll be back in the big dance in 2023.

If I'm right, I would like to go ahead and decline the prize.

Maybe a year or two, but I honestly think they will be better this year. Addition by subtraction getting rid of Defrozen. I could see them winning 35 or 36 games with good upside. Depends on White's health as previously mentioned.

Then again, with this play-in BS they could luck their way in next year.

IM thinking 2 years after pop leaves. A year for the new coach to get everyone on the same page and away from pop noise. The next year we make the PO.
