It looks like TO got his way. He should be released any day now. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Nice to know teams are allowed to discipline their players. :rolleyes

Oh, Gee!!

If released, Owens would go through the league's waiver system, with the worst team getting the first shot of claiming him.

Oh, the fun TO would have with the football juggernaut known as the Houston Texans. Also:

Jets - enjoy the Brooks Bollinger/Vinny Testeverde experience...they make Jeff "weak arm" Garcia look like the Pro Bowler he used to be

Pack - extremely cold, extremely small market - it'll be more like a flashlight than a national spotlight on your next temper tantrum

Saints - homeless team with its own off the field contract issues

Niners - irony at its finest

Looks like the Jessie Jackson ploy worked. Nice that the Reverend took time off between cheating on his wife to help out TO.

I just heard on ESPN radio that Richard Block, the arbitrator, upheld the suspension and said the Eagles could keep him inactive for the rest of the season.

Wow...my bad guys. I guess my source (yahoo news) counted its chickens before they hatched. This is good news for disciplinary actions. It would have been a shame to see him get away with his actions.

its all good Pimp....I am glad to see TO get what he deserves.

Oh, Gee!!

The Eagles are idiots for shooting themselves in the foot to prove a point. Let TO play this season to at least get a few more wins and then release him at the end of the year. They'll be lucky to win two more games this season without him.

Big Pimp_21

but they will get a good pick in the draft. They won't make the playoffs this year with or without him. At least this way, they prove their point and get an early pick in the draft.

No need to apologize, BigPimp. You posted an AP story from a recognized site. If anyone needs to apologize, it should be that prick Owens, and that won't happen until he needs some money.

I disagree completely. Anyone that will fuck you once will fuck you twice.

No, TO is the idiot.

His reputation was well known when they signed him. They knew what they were getting.

But he also agreed BEFORE he signed that he would not cause trouble. But, it looks like he will always be a me first, dick who destroys teams. Oh well, I hope he doesnt play the rest of this year.

I agree. That still doesn't mean that the Eagles should spread their legs open for him again.

He got worse when he got to Philly.....Dre is right on about him.

He's one of the main reasons my team has Alex Smith at QB and is still in the Reggie Bush sweepstakes.

Oh, Gee!!

A four game suspension is adequate. Deactivation for the rest of the season just to prove a point is idiotic.

I disagree. Philly has the right to disciple players. Why not deactivate him? He doesnt like the team anyways, so why not help him out and let him not play on the "classless" Eagles. I hope TO is happy!

What the fuck else are they going to do with him? The trade deadline was six weeks ago. If they let Owens play, all they are showing is that they allow the inmates to run the asylum. And what happens when he's sick of Koy Detmer and Mike McMahon, or the inevitable "development" phase the Eagles will start going on once they're assured of missing the playoffs?

If they release him, he'll bitch and moan about every team that claims him on waivers until he gets his way the same way he did after the Niners traded him to Baltimore, and the next thing you know he winds up in Dallas (more likely) or Denver (less likely).

Fuck that piece of human excrement. Let him rot on the inactive list.

Oh, Gee!!

I bet you don't really.

I disagree. the point was worth proving. It wasn't just one think with Owens...it was a number of things. One player is not more important than the entire team.

I was watching some talking heads on TV last night, and I agree with what they said. TO will never get another deal that isn't laden with trip wires and out clauses for the team, and TO will never even whiff another deal close to the "unacceptable" contract he just fucked himself out of.

Someone else last week said that he would become a one year "rent-a-player" each year, and I have to agree. Oh, the initial signing may be for two years or three years, but how many contracts actually run their course in the NFL?

Dre_7

i like how the nfl lets murderers and drug dealers play but not 'bad sports'

There is a murderer playing in the NFL? Who??

Rae Carruth was convicted, and Ray Lewis got off.
