Well, they won’t get paid for any games missed due to not being vaxxed. That’ll up to 8 games in Cali, plus two in NY, plus who knows what else. It’s still a choice, but it’s hit to the wallet. Don’t understand that dumbass Wiggins. Is he really going to forfeit half of his pay? He can’t play in any home games. I thought Canadians were smarter than us, at least the ones not living on the plains.

it seems it would be an easy choice but if he's hesitant then you figure it would be a legit reason, not just an antivax thing. but who knows.

if someone was legit scared b/c they saw someone close to them have a severe adverse affect (it does happen) and/or they previously had covid already and so they know they have some sort of natural immunity, why can't there be specific process in place for those people? why does it have to be vaccine or get out? if its about safety then include all types of ways of safety.

The NBA defers to the local mandates. California will be why Wiggins won’t get paid for home games.

it’s why we are the perfect team to get Kyrie. Think about it, Abbott would never have that bullshit law here and Kyrie not only would get most of his pay, but any money he did miss would be more than made up for with the amount of taxes he wouldn’t be paying. So Texas IS the place for him. He can’t go to Dallas bc they have no picks and wtf wants to play in trash Houston. Especially after he heard Harden bitch and moan about it half the year. We are back in play boys!

You sure seem quite knowledgable about the vaccine as you say it does jack shit. So since you are such an expert in the medical field and vaccines, I was hoping to understand the different lipids the vaccine is made out of?

Lmao It was either get the vaxx or flip burgers... Not my problem you're hung up on whether or not the vaxx works. Go cry to someone that gives af bro.

Can someone explain this to me? What does it mean if you have antibodies? Are antibodies something you already have, or is it only if you've already had Covid-19 that you have antibodies?

Also, what vaccines do you guys have available there in the US? Do you get a choice? Here, we can have either AstraZeneca or Pfizer. I have no idea which one is better of the two, and if one if more suitable for older people and the other for younger people.

As someone who's seeing hospital ICUs filled entirely with non-vaxxed individuals, I applaud the Spurs for getting their shots.

My elderly mother fell last week and fractured her pelvis. She spent 18 hours in the ER before being admitted to a hospital bed because all the beds were full, and then they rushed her out of that room and into a long-term care facility as fast as possible because they need to flip rooms.

Considering the majority of COVID cases ending up in the hospital are un-vaxxed, their selfishness and ignorance is not limited to affecting only anti-vaxxers. It is preventing many who require many other forms of care from being able to receive that care. I've spoken to so many nurses and doctors over the past week and they are simply overwhelmed.

It's not #YourBodyYourChoice when your actions could potentially be deadly to others around you.

NBA may not be able to force players to get the jab, but they are gonna make it as awkward and inconvenient as possible if they don't.

That sucks, Dex, I'll send some prayers your way. Both my grandparents fell down and broke their hips, and I had to watch/care for both of them while they wilted away, neither walked again after the falls. I really hope that's not the case for your mum (both my GPs were in their 80's, which definitely contributed to it), but hip injuries in elderly people are serious matters. Can't imagine having to deal with that in the middle of a pandemic, AND knowing the hospitals can't even care for you own mother properly because they're filled with selfish, ignorant a-holes.

Best of luck to you and the family.

Thanks Sugus, I appreciate the kind words.

It's been a long 18 months for everybody and I've been fairly outspoken on this topic for several reasons, but this last week has just been the icing on the shit cake, and it looks like there is no end in sight.

I'm done making excuses for people who want to be assholes and act like this situation is just going to magically go away because they don't believe in it or "it's a conspiracy". I generally try to keep an open mind and see other points of view...but frankly, those people can fuck off.

If you don't want the vaccine, sign away your rights to go into a hospital when you end up with COVID and are lying on your deathbed.

your god-king and fox absolutely have nothing to do with that I'm sure.

I've grown to just pity you clanfolk. you're fragile. easily manipulated, even in the face of getting a vaccine which increases your odds of surviving a virus that's killed 700K ppl, a full 11 fold.

so I'm all in favor of this virus culling the weak minded hacks incapable of listening to the results. 6 billion SHOTS have been given. 6 FUCKING BILLION.

If you think the rare possibility of very treatable conditions of Epstein-Barr or myocarditis are problematic then by all means go face the virus that's statistically FAR MORE likely to induce both of those presentations by itself.

And I ask again can you please explain the different salt and sugars and lipids that made the vaccine? You seem to know a lot about this vaccine by saying it does jackshit but it's a bit confusing why you can't explain the science behind why it's not a functional vaccine?

Dude, you’re going to drive this motherfucker to get a calf-tat of a protein structure and then we’re all going to suffer having to look at his formless, pasty appendages.

Nah bro I said the players who don't get the vax will end up flipping burgers; it was sarcasm and then you went on a stupid rant asking if I'm a virologist. Go cry to someone who fucking cares because it ain't me.

your god-king and fox absolutely have nothing to do with that I'm sure.

As if IGAF whether or not you "worry" about me or others. Live your life bro; I don't know you and will never be close to you so take your reply and shove it up your ass bro. :tu

Btw it's hilarious how you stereotype people and just assume I am some Fox viewer or some Trumper. :lol

Yes, because several times a year, our ICUs are overwhelmed with common cold patients on ventilators, to the point of breaking the system.

Not entirely true....however, the new Omicron variant's symptoms that's running its course right now is quite similar to the common cold.

Probably since it's a recent occurrence....seriously, I'm not arguing that covid = the common cold...but, it's a fact that the Omicron variant is much less severe than previous strains and it's symptoms are almost identical to the common cold.

Doesn't matter if it has a bit lower hospitalization rate than other strains if it's infecting everyone at once, which it is right now. Yesterday had the most new cases of COVID in the US confirmed in the entire pandemic. Every time someone tries to write this pandemic off they look like an ass a week or two later.

i'm hoping for sufficiently 'milder' strains of covid that outcompete the deadlier ones so that eventually covid becomes indistinguishable from the common cold

that would be the balls

Yes it spreads like wildfire but, the symptoms are so minor that this variant isn't nearly the problem that the previous ones were. It's basically giving everyone antibodies without severe symptoms. If you're gonna get c19 (and everyone is at some point) then this is the one you want...with common cold symptoms and antibodies to protect against future strains....

I'm not writing it off....c19 is endemic at this point....it's something we will live with the rest of our lives...so if we have to live with it then it's better to have minor common cold symptoms...

yes, supposedly it actually picked up a piece of the common cold virus while mutating its spike protein to be the most transmissible human virus in the history our pathogenic disease. the common cold is actually a corona virus too. but that said, this thing is still, even with genetic material from the common cold, far from the common cold because it's still overwhelmingly a novel virus to humans and our immune system hasn't encountered it previously.

572,000 cases today, when even at the height of the alpha wave (our previous highest levels) we had 306,000 cases on our worst day. It was 476,000 cases yesterday. There is little doubt this wave is going to overflow our hospitals.

Lots of people are getting it...butvthe symptoms aren't severe enough to kill in numbers like previous variants. Ultimately, this variant will help us move past Covid because there will be so many people with better immunity due to catching a version of this that isn't very severe

Yes but if even it it leads to half the hospitalizations as our previous peaks the hospitals will be overrun by sheer numbers. Less people dying of COVID, maybe, but less people able to be treated for anything else.

That's simply not what has been happening with this variant in other countries that have experienced it so far. The hysteria simply isn't warranted.
